'Man of Steel' easter egg will make Batman fans happy

The press got to see the highly anticipated Superman movie Man of Steel earlier this week and certain details are starting to come online. Last month director Zack Snyder promised there would be references to the DC Universe and he definitely followed through. The big one that Steve Weintraub of Collider just revealed is that the movie included a reference to Wayne Enterprises! The context in which it appears is a very minor spoiler, but I'll put it in spoiler tags out of respect for those want to try to spot it on their own.

The Wayne Enterprises logo is on a satellite that Zod destroys.

Weintraub said he didn't even notice the reference during the movie, so if you blink you might miss it. His colleagues at Omelete did spot the Wayne Enterprises easter egg and asked director Zack Snyder if he would like to see Batman and Superman team-up in Man of Steel 2. Here's what he had to say:

"I don’t know. Everything is interesting at this point. And don’t forget that Lex is out there, doing who knows what…"

Do you think Batman might appear in Man of Steel 2, or is Zack Snyder planting the seeds for the Justice League movie? It's been reported that Warner Bros. will ask Snyder to direct Justice League if Man of Steel is a success and early buzz seems to suggest it will be. There's definitely a reason Wayne Enterprises was included in Man of Steel... let me hear your theories in the comments below!

  You got tickets to see this movie just for the Batman reference? Batman is the only comic I pay any attention to and in my life, seeing this movie or anything related to this character in question, would be the equivalent of joining a terrorist group.

I really am sorry about that. When I think "spoiler" I think about plot/story details. Since Zack Snyder already confirmed there would be DC Universe references and this was a "blink and you'll miss it" easter egg I didn't think it was a big deal. I heard you guys loud and clear on Twitter and changed the headline.

With all the talk about Snyder directing JL the important question to me is who is going to write it? And why haven't they thrown a bunch of money at Goyer and/or J Nolan yet?

If MoS is a success, Snyder deserves credit, but it's Goyer's story that Snyder is telling. So why does Snyder reap the reward?

In the meantime, in my quest to re-watch all Superman movies before MoS, I've watched 4 of them. And I have to say part 3 is my favorite so far. DEAL WITH IT. The first 2 did not hold up at all, but the third...dare I say...yes, I dare...improved.

The whole Good Clark vs Evil Superman is the only redeeming part of that movie.

  I was very shocked at how much I liked that this time. It truly is the most epic live action Superman battle we've had that actually feels like something from the comics.
  The thing is, the first two movies are so campy and ridiculous, but they're presented as if they're serious. The jokes are so cornball they just ruin the tone and make my eyes roll like a slot machine. The third movie is a straight up comedy, it never lies or pretends it's something it's not. The humor is actually pretty funny in a Looney Tunes way and doesn't feel out of place from the rest of the movie.
  And personally, maybe it's because it's the first one I saw in the theater, I remember everything that happens in it. With the first two it's like I'm watching them for the first time, every single time. But this one I remember everything. The frozen lake, the coal into diamond, the tar in the kryptonite, skiing on the roof, bowling, Pryor's big foam cowboy hat, the evil Superman of course. This one is just so much more iconic to me for some reason.
  Also, replacing Margot Kidder with Annette O'Tool was the best trade since the Yankees traded for Babe Ruth.

Are u loco??? Parts 3&4 were horrible in my book. Superman 1&2 and Superman Returns were the only watchable ones.

    The only one I can stand is the first one. Which is funny because I used to hate the first one and love the second one(General Zod is one of my favorite villains, so that probably helped) And Returns isn't bad either if you just shut off your brain, mostly because of the kid thing, because frankly, it doesn't make ANY sense no matter which version of Superman 2 you watch(albeit the Richard Donner Cut makes it impossible for Returns to even happen)

thats it??? thats all??? just a mention of Wayne Ent??? Hell in the Terrible Superman Returns they at least mention and show Gotham city on a tv screen. Marvel is soooooooo Far ahead, they got 2 movies out jus this year and and there gonna start filming avengers 2 next year, while Waner Bros efffing around. for me Marvel is kinda over-saturating hollywood with these super hero movies every year. I enjoy them, no doubt but slowing down wouldn't hurt. Basically Hollywood comes out with the same crap every year, we dont need Marvel adding to it.

So what? In Batman Forever, after Dick Grayson's parents died, Bruce Wayne told Alfred "They're probably halfway to Metropolis by now."

And on Lois & Clark, in the later seasons, they mentioned Gotham City more than once.

This doesn't mean anything.

Jensen is 35 years old they add make up to make him look older and stressed out on Supernatural. Same can be done for the film. Instead of doing another origins story they could start the Batman film off with Bruce 10 years into being Batman. Darken the hair and add some gray he will be fine. Also, "the face of a child". Bruce Wayne is suppose to at least look like a playboy. Who do you have in mind? Adam Sandler or Seth Rogen.

  Why on Earth would you want an old gray haired Batman? If they do a JLA movie it's going to be the beginning of the JLA, they're not doing The Dark Knight Returns.

    Add a little gray to make him seem older. We have seen the inexperience Batman already and his first encounters with villians. Plus, if Ackles plays him he will be in his late 30s. It would sell better with gray hair.

      I'd much rather go younger so we have somebody who can play Batman multiple times over a decade than start with somebody who would already be 40 by time this comes out. For me a connected universe makes it even more important you lock somebody in for a good long while so you don't have to recast people too much.

Maybe if he lifted ~80lbs a week. Batman's a big guy. Last thing we need is for him to get whacked around every ten seconds like Bale. This guy would make a perfect RED HOOD, after all he did play the voice of him..

I've always felt he'd work a lot better as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. He looks exactly like Hal from the comics, and after 8 years of Supernatural and one year on Smallville, he most certainly acts like Hal Jordan!

If you look in google images amd type in Man of Steel easter egg there is another on that may or may not be an easter egg. On this buliding it says LexGold. Not sure if that is a teaser or not.

Someone posted on a talkback on AICN that there is an end of movie scene involving Bruce Wayne in the Bat cave with Alfred. They described it as after the credits the screen goes blank and then you hear Alfred walking with someone into the batcave, when they reach the chair in front of the big computer monitors in the cave Alfred says something like - 'someone to see you sir.' The chair swivels round and Christian Bale is sitting there. Not sure if he's dressed as Batman though.
This would be a cool surprise.

Bale said he would return if Nolan was involved; and with the end of TDKR you could easily see them going down the Asrael route with JGL character becoming an unstable Batman and Bruce Wayne returning to take back the cape and cowl.

There are 3 easter eggs in this movie one is a gasoline tank with Lexcorps logo, a satellite with Wayne lgo and in the space ship when Clark search the dead bodies there is a pod open ( maybe another kriptonian is alive on earth or possibly supergirl)

I use to think that the Nolan series could never be part of the DCU but after seeing MoS I have changed my mind. Imagine MoS2 begins with Superman needing to travel to Gotham for a news story or something and he meets John Blake who is the new Batman (he could be wearing the suit minus the cape and mask) then Batman shows up and states he is coming out of retirement knowing that their world is not alone and not safe. With the return of Batman John Blake changes his name to Nightwing. I don't know about you guys but that would be cool to me.

Totally disagree. Man of Steel showed exactly why Nolan's Batman could never co-exist in this universe. The level of stakes and the amount of destruction in Man of Steel makes it completely ridiculous to think a normal guy in a rubber Bat suit could ever stand up to villains the like of Zod or be able to hang with Superman. It's just a crazy notion. There's no amount of gadgets that can put that Batman on this level. Plus you have to think that whatever brings the JLA together has to be an even bigger threat than Zod and his group was in this movie. It has to be on a galactic scale. Nolan's Batman would be squashed like a bug. He needed a robotic knee brace just to fight Bane and he still got his ass kicked. How is he going to fight Darkseid? There's no amount of suspension of disbelief that would get me to buy into that.
