Aaron Eckhart, aka Harvey Dent/Two-Face to Batman fans, was recently on Larry King Now. King asked Eckhart what Heath Ledger was like and he told an incredible story about a scene they filmed together for The Dark Knight. He talked about what it was like shooting the hospital scene with Ledger and the whole thing really puts into perspective what an incredible actor Ledger was. Check out the video above to hear what Aaron Eckhart had to say about this particular scene from The Dark Knight.

I think if Heath was still alive, he would've been in TDKR where Goyer woud've adapted a "final confrontation" from THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS before Batman faced Bane in the finale. OR...
I also think besides the Blackgate prisoners, Bane would've released Joker from Arkham, taken him along to the Pit where Joker and Bruce would've been cellmates or cell-neighbors just like how Joker had wished at the end of TDK. This would serve as a mental test along with the physical obstacles that Bruce confronted will imprisoned in the Pit.23 likes
Dude. Either of those would have been awesome.

What a testament to Heath's dedication and his method acting. Such a great scene from an amazing film, too. I'm glad to get some insight from Eckhart. Thanks for sharing this, Batman-News :)

I really hope the dark knight collection set has some new footage or features on Heath Ledger. I love the special features on Rises and can't wait to see what else they have hidden in the vault.

Me too! I think that The Dark Knight's special features were the weakest of the 3 Blu-rays.

Yeah I enjoyed the Dark knight features but you could tell they were holding stuff back. Sure enough, we get word of an ultimate collector's edition.

I guess I never realized that the hospital scene was the only time in TDK that Ledger and Eckhart appear on screen together.

I feel bad for Eckhart. He's a great guy, was super enthusiastic about being Two-Face and wanted to come back for the sequel so bad. And most of the movies he has done post TDK weren't that great. And if you think about it, having him come back as Two-Face would not have cheapened the ending of The Dark Knight and the sacrifice Batman made because Bane ends up revealing that truth to the public anyway. It would have had to have been a different story than the 8 years later one though.

Heath Ledger is a true LEGEND! His Joker entered in the History of Cinema. Aaron was almost as good as Heath playing Harvey. And It is a compliment!
