ABC Family is starting to show Batman movies and a promo for their Batman Begins premiere last weekend has been making its way around the internet. Batman News comic reviewer Andrew Asberry brought it to my attention last week and now the promo is online in HD for the world to see. The thirty second spot makes you wonder if anyone in ABC Family's marketing department actually ever saw Batman Begins with the "he fights for family and lives for love" line.

I saw this promo on tv, I'm pretty sure they used every shot available of people smiling in the film.
Makes BB seem like a sequel to Remember the Titans.
This reminds me of the Spider-man promos on TBS that also emphasize the romance aspect and pretty much ignore the fact that it's a superhero film.
I agree; it seems like no one watched the film before putting this together.

And the best part is they'll make it 4 hours long with 1 hour of actual movie. And they'll play it at least 10 times a month.

Are they showing the same Batman Begins that I saw? Because the one I saw was not even remotely about "fighting for family and living for love" It was more like "origins of Batman's angst, and the process of him becoming a hero -or anti hero, depending on your view- all while tearing Gotham's crime base wide open"
What makes this promo not only terrible from "fight for family, lives for love", but the announcer's voice I can not stand.

Well, it's obvious that they did not see the movie or read the comics. Come on! Batman and family?! They are dead 20 Years ago (I think). This promo is good for spiderman because he has an aunt and MJ, but, batman? nope!
They also played other Batman movies, including Batman Returns. Wonder how they tried to lighten that up.

NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL, from both a comic book perspective and a movie perspective, Batman does fight for family (close friends/significant others/Gotham) and does live for love (peace/Rachel Dawes)--in fact he was depressed for 8 years just because his love died.
Well, Batman was also charged with murder.
I mean, if you mean Bruce fights for the memory of his parents, technically he fights for family. But this is still awful. Makes Batman Begins looks so melodramatic, with the whiplash and him living for love. Rachel was important and he was shaken when she died, to the point of becoming a recluse (of course, Batman was also wanted for murder!). But I wouldn't say he lives for love.
What…the he..ck…was that. But, it's still Batman so it's all good.
okay um... he has no family...and he certainly does not live for love. not even close.
It needs Meat Loaf singing in the background "and I will do anything for love, I will do anythiiiing fooorr looooove!"
