   I hope they address what Bruce Wayne's "official" story to the press is for his only son Damian dying. They were in the public eye, especially with the Gotham Initiative, so in my opinion this should not go unaddressed.

   1. Explain the unrelated, simultaneous deaths of Damian Wayne and "Robin."

   2. Show someone from child protective services cause a bunch of ruckus to have Batman arrested for child endangerment which led to a loss of life - then he wouldn't be able to walk around police headquarters or openly meet with Commissioner Gordon anymore.

   And Andrew, when they started Batman New 52 they should have just started from the beginning of Batman: the night his parents died. Show a few highlightes of his younger years then head onto the Batman Begins/Year One part of Batman's story and just organically build it from there; introducing each character properly and at times that make sense. Like where did all of those villains come from in The Long Halloween? Wasn't that supposed to be a couple years after Year One?

      Agreed. I've always said the reboot would've been an amazing and ballsy move on DC's part if they really started from day one. Instead it just ended up being another Crisis where a few character died, a few lived, a few were changed, some stuff happened, some stuff was wiped. The only thing truly rebooted were the numbers on the front of the book.

      Explaining Damian's death IS a big deal. Much more so than Robin. It already stretches my imagination to believe that Bruce Wayne has publicly admitted to funding Batman Inc. That should be a dead giveaway to every single person in Gotham. Now his son gets stabbed through the chest with a sword?

         I'm alright with Batman starting a global initiative to get an ally established in every country, but the concept of having him publicly admit to funding Batman is one of the worst ideas any writer has ever had.

            The worst... ever? Honestly, it was just implemented pretty limply. They explain that he doesn't get identified as Batman because he stirs the rumor pot in chatrooms? I don't mind the idea of it, it's just not handled well. (And let's be honest, it always has been a little obvious that Bruce Wayne is Batman. He loses a ward when Jason died? This isn't the first time...)

   Is there a reason we have to have spoilers in the title?

   Usually you are pretty good about keeping spoilers separated and marked in the text itself (not to mention, free from the title!). I've been reading your posts since you began them, but haven't felt spoiled, even though I'm a trade-reader. I still don't know what happens in "City of Owls" and "Death of the Family," and that's due in part to the respect for spoilers that I've seen here.

   Yes, I know DC spoiled it themselves, but that's no excuse. Some of us want to be surprised.

      I'm sorry, but there really wasn't any way for me to keep the death of Robin secret for the trade-readers such as yourself. For example, Batman Inc. Vol. 2 which will collect this issue won't even be out until fall of 2013 at the earliest (volume 1 is out in May and only has issues 0-6) and just look at what the subject matter of this article is: every cover of every comic book I'll be reporting on next month shows the Bat-family mourning over a dead Robin. If it wasn't the headline of this article that spoiled it for you, the thumbnails of next month's articles surely would have.

      The death of Robin is something that's too big for me to hide and continue to talk about what's going on in the comics. The best I could do was bury DC's Monday announcement.

   These are all awesome, especially Batman 18 variant and the Batman Inc cover. They made the readers all think the tragedy happened in DOTF but it happens in Batman Inc. I'm actually sad about this, reading the Batman and Robin annual 1 to this.

      Right? I felt like reading about another side of Damian in the annual, then poof, he's dead. Personally it was pretty heartbreaking, but not disappointing. Damian's such a great character after all....

    Ya know, it's weird and doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but this helps me be less mad at DC for the Monday spoilers. I mean, even seeing that cover on Inc 8, I would've still remembered Batman RIP and wondered if it was *actually* going to happen. Still, this makes me happy! Looking forward to these covers!

    I saw these covers yesterday, but I still feel the need to gush over how awesome some of them are. Batman and Batgirl in particular are tear-jerkers for me. Nightwing might be too if it wasn't so dramatic.

    On another note, I'm very disappointed to see that there will be a Catwoman issue covering this. I'm convinced it's just going to end in grief-induced roof-top sex :/

    Holy crap! Capullo, Burnham, Fabok and Kubert nailed those covers! They are beautiful!
    Wow they fooled us with those other covers to keep this secret and they just go and spoil the death by themselves lol

    The Nightwing cover should've been better though...Dick should be as devastated as Bruce, or more.
    I can't believe Morrison's run is ending...what will happen to Batman :(

    PS: I still can't get used to New52 Batsuit....
