'The Dark Knight Rises' Blu-ray/DVD officially announced, coming December 4th

Warner Bros. accidentally let news of the Blu-ray/DVD for The Dark Knight Rises slip last week, but now it's all official. Warner Bros. announced exclusively to Entertainment Weekly today that The Dark Knight Rises will be released on Blu-ray combo pack, DVD, and digital download on December 4th. Here are some of the bonus features and extras you can expect to see:

The Blu-ray combo pack is stuffed with a bunch of extras, from a documentary about the Batmobile, where all five Batmobiles are together for the first time, to Ending the Knight, an in-depth look featuring about 17 featurettes at how Nolan and his production team made The Dark Knight Rises, from Batman vs. Bane to totally demolishing a city street. Both the Blu-ray and DVD include a featurette called The Journey of Bruce Wayne. There are also trailers and art galleries.

Wait, so to get the Blu ray/DVD combo pack you have to get the broken cowl edition? It's cool but I would rather save some money and get a regular case.

I’ll definitely get myself TDK Rises Blu-ray…as for the Trilogy box set? No chance in hell. I already have Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in my blu-ray collection; to buy them again (collectively, this time around) WITHOUT any new features of extras worth checking out (from the first 2 films, at the very least) would be a dumb move on a consumer's stand point.

WB should have held onto its release at least until the 10th anniversary of Batman Begins' theatrical release, with new features that are actually worth spending money on (or perhaps a Director's Cut for each of the 3 films, now that would be awesome)...

That's what I am talking about. Just stop spending your money on nonsense! Until new footage is available it is pointless to buy a box set if you already have them all individually. Be smart people. We make the sales, and if they are not going to give us what we ask for then do not buy a box set that has not deleted scenes or extras available. They have enough of our money. Make available what we ask for or don't make a box set available until you are ready to do so.

I knew the Trilogy boxset was going to have the Begin-Fall-Rise graphic design. It should include that poster that has all the main characters standing in the rain behind Batman.
Wow, the broken cowl design is not bad. Too bad the bonuses are videos that have already been seen in other medias. I'm surprised there is really nothing new

Warner bros fucking fans over yet again... I'm not wasting money on this obvious cash grab . That trilogy box set is a waste. Cowl edition is pretty cool despite the lack of decent extras.

The trilogy set is a fake. Hasn't been announced yet. The case is wrong in the image. 2 disc spots for Begins but only one disc. 1 disc spot for Rises but 2 discs. That picture has been floating around for a while. The trilogy, if it's releases, probably won't include that book either.

I bet that is how they try to push the box set on us, with a theatrical Man Of Steel theatrical trailer. As much as I love Superman that is still not enough to get me to buy it. If they go that route, than I will just wait to see the theatrical trailer online. No new scenes than no box set.
