With Ben Affleck flat out saying "I'm not working on the Justice League" it seems like Warner Bros. may already be talking to their second choice for Justice League. Moviehole reports that Warner Bros. want Lana and Andy Wachowski to direct the superhero team-up movie. The Wachowskis are best known for directing The Matrix trilogy and apparently Warner Bros. is very impressed with their upcoming movie Cloud Atlas. Take all this Justice League news as rumor for now, but the facts are bound to turn up soon. Stay tuned to Batman-News.com for all the latest.

I remember when they were the Wachowski brothers. So I have no interest in seeing these two making the Justice League movie.

Aww, scared of a transgender person creating a movie? That's adorable.
EDIT: I just saw your icon and it explains a lot.

Scared no but appalled indeed. I'm all for gay rights however this is above and beyond that.

Well, I don't agree with you but at least you're reasonable. Opinions are a beautiful thing.

Ben Affleck just said it was pure rumor and that he wasn't approached. On top of that he said the prospect of working on a Justice League film sounds exciting but unfortunately he is not working on it because he was never approached. I would take this as a flat out rumor as well. And I actually like the idea of Affleck more to tell you the truth

Definitely. All of your "realism" goes out the door with the Wachowskis. Never been a fan of their work, besides V for Vendetta. Vendetta was highly overrated though. The first Matrix was decent.

None of Affleck's movies are like JL, IMO. He's a great director but I'm not sure if he can pull it off.
The Wachowski's, though, are a different case. Judging by their movies, they really look like they can pull it off, at least more than Affleck can. I mean, The Matrix was like a comic book movie. And they're comic book fans as well.

Im OK with that choice, if this is for real.

I think that would be great! I loved the trilogy and they sure can direct some groundbreaking action..

I tried to put together my thoughts on this but all I can come up with is "Uggh"

That was such an overrated movie. But it's the holy grail for over-glamourizing revolutionary wannabe hipsters.

Alam Moore , the man who wrote the graphic novel refused to let them put his name on either the starting or ending credits.

im sorry a JL movie wont work because of how much people love TDK trilogy i mean think about it christian bale was great as batman/bruce wayne and the joker will have to make an appearance and the only reason the avengers worked was because of how well they set the movie up. Also Watchmen and nolan's batman's were the only good dc flims

Speaking of 'Watchmen', Zack Snyder would be perfect for 'Justice League'. Maybe he has his hands full with 'Man of Steel', but still, 'Watchmen' is proof that he can make a great "superhero team" movie in a dark and realistic setting.

Would be awesome if Zack helm man of steel, but this is overload him of work in a really little time to do the film.

Damn, really? I thought he totally ruined Watchmen....

Well, that's your opinion. But it was exactly like the comic book so I don't get the problem. Or maybe the fact it's too respectful to the source material is its weakness?
I actually thought the new ending was much better.

"New ending"? Are you talking about the movie or the comic books? Without spoiling anything, please elaborate. Is there a blu-ray with a new ending?

Please God no! They are hacks. Just wait til their newest movie totally bombs. Then, "Justice League" will be off their radar.

Pretty iconic and well-respected for hacks, don't you think?
Though they've made some crapfests, they've got good stuff like The Matrix (sci-fi and comic-book-y) and V for Vendetta (comic book adaptation) that can prove they're decent choices.

Oh dear god no. What in the hell is Warner Bros thinking? I thought affleck was a sketchy choice. Jeez oh man.

Depends what type of movie would you get. Speed Racer or the first Matrix. :-/

Once Cloud Atlas comes out in October, we'll see if The Wachowskis are a good choice. Otherwise, my vote is on ZACK SYNDER

Still think they should give it to JJ Abrams.

I give this my stamp of approval. The first two Matrices will always have a special place in my heart and they have proved they can translate comics to film with V for Vendetta. I'd much prefer them over Affleck.

They bungled V for Vendetta... royally. They took a story about drowning of freedom in a sea of oppression and transformed it into a black-and-white liberal wet-dream of charging against neo-conservatism. The well-rounded characters of the comics were recast as one-dimensional caricatures. They missed the whole point of Moore's fable, corrupting it just to hammer in their own ideas.
As with the Matrix trilogy, they are all about gloss and showing off special effects with the pretension of saying something that is simple and rests only on the surface.

Wow people here actually liked Watchmen? I thought it was a horrible movie. Everyone is accusing style over substance with the W bros, but somehow like Snyder? This would make me lawl if it weren't so depressing.

Well you are the minority. As long as majority is pleased its fine

Give it a rest, we get it, you didn't like 'Watchmen'. Time to move on in life.

Leave them out of it. They are more obsessed with anime. Plus their only good movie was the Matrix which already borrowed from other source materials, some being anime. They sucked at doing V4V. And Speed Racer was just for looks, and guess what? Was also anime. I don't want an anime style or influenced Justice League movie.

After I saw Cloud Atlas (trailer) I say yes, so far the Wichowskis has been successful except for "Speed Racer"... I like their concept on taking originality to the big screen. I believe they can take this project sky rocket
