Love this featurette, this got me more pumped than the critics reviews.
Does it have any spoilers??
no there's no spoilers. it's much more teasing you just to make wait 2 more weeks.
few unknown shots but no plot indication or anything like that....
but yes it does come in black haha
My friend saw the movie last Tuesday, I posted a bunch of spoilers in the comment thread of the recent HD images post if anyones interested.
not really spoilerish. Just behind the scenes of what we already knew
there's maybe 10-15 seconds of actual film footage we hadn't seen, so you won't really be spoiled if you've already seen all of the trailers.
It shows Bane as a child in prison.
wrong statement!
What are you talking about?
bane as a child. I don't think we will be able to see that. It's a complete non sense in the history of nolan's cinema. Vilains are not portray in their past or childhood in nolan's cinema. Past is always something trivial with nolan's approach concerning that kind of character (joker, two face, scarecrow even ra's isn't portray in the past only forgotten souvenirs and memories)
;) but IMO my friend so no offense.
Wrong Statement. Nolan in the video: "Through the course of TDKR we will uncover more about what drives Bane, where he comes from, what he wants."
Or it could be young Talia as she is bald back then as well.
Goosebumps!!!!!! I'm almost crying here... man, the grandiosity of this movie... it's unbelivable! I've catched a few sweet spoilers too... the boy in prison = young Bane??
"People of Gotham. We have not abandoned you"
"What's that mean?"
"It means we're on our own"
Hell yeah - No Man's Land!!!
not too much of a spoiler because in the trailers we notice that bridges are destroyed. And also at the end of almost every single tv spot you can notice that gotham is in fire with airplanes flying over the city.
What's interesting is that the bridges in Gotham were on Bane's blast map, meaning that he wanted to destroy them. So for that reason I still believe that it is Bane who will be destroying the bridges.
i'm not sayin it's destroyed by airplanes dude but i mean airplane means that you don't have ground report so you need air support to see/know what's goin on in the CBD
Yeah That's the vibe I got from that line too.
Wowww..... I have been catching up on The Dark Knight Rises from like friday with the newest trailer. Men this is something else... That latest trailer.. I couldn't stop watching it every morning I came off bed! hihihihi The dialogues... My favourite dialogue right now between Batman and Catwoman: " You don't owe these people any more." "You have given them everything." Batman: "No." " Not yet!"
With that trademark deep voice! Friggin' jawdropping for sure. What about Bruce Wayne saying: "I'm not afraid." " I'm angry!" while doing push ups. That's very very great stuff! Oh and bytheway I'm GLAD to be back FB! I was released last tuesday morning on 7:30 am after a tough prison sentence of 120 days. I made it!!!!! Now I'm FREE!!!!! Yeah! Just in time for the kick off on July 20! I told you I would give you a heads up when I was released! haha I found a temporarily home with a computer and Internet so! Hope you're great to men!!
It's friggishly GOOD to be back @ batman-news.com!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Looks who's back! Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I'm so happy to see you here again! Look a few posts back,I talked to Ebostock about you and told him I missed you and was worried about you.I'm so happy the shitty sentence is finally over, pal ! And.............Yeah!You've missed so much great stuff and I understand your excitement right now.The third trailer(if you're counting the teaser too) was epic, man! Yeah I know! And very emotional! Soooooo much great stuff! The posters, stills,TV spots,....You need some time to chill out! But you ain't got much time! We are only 12 days away from July 20th!
Thank you so much men. I just got home after a little adventure outside. I'm currently living in my old hometown.... So HOME SWEET HOME haha Yeah men time to chill out definitely. Already had a beer and some ice cream hahaha Oh and I found the posts you were talking about men! Thank you so much. And you're right. My absence shows I was in that sad place. It was from March 5th to July 3th.
Most important thing to remember for the rest of my life: It was really really really hard but I kept thinking:
The Dark Knight Rises! I have to survive this godawful prison sentence because I will be free to watch it on the day of premiere!!! YEAH!! Even made a nearly perfect drawing of the batman logo while I was in prison. And that freaked other prisoners out let me tell you hahaha they hated me for that and I got into some SERIOUS trouble because of it but I survived! hahahaha It's so good to be back here on batman-news and to look at all the new cool stuff!
July 20 is coming FB! The most epic, amazing, thrilling and historical day in the history of cinema! Now I'm free and I already have the 'I can't wait virus' in my blood again! hahaha
Cheers,bro!
Just learned that in some cinemas here in the Netherlands they feature a Batman Marathon! I bet it will sound familiar.. The marathon starts with Batman Begins and ends ofcourse with The Dark Knight Rises! All three movies as one single story starting from Thursdaynight the 19th at 00:00 am.
That's AMAZING!! :-D
Welcome back, bro!
Wow...... we are all getting emotional! I'm so stoked for this film.......=D
i have some extract from the soundtrack in here to.
And I really hope we gonna have a full Bane Theme in a special edition of the soundtrack because it looks pretty short (4,07minutes). Why so Serious was 9min+ and ALSO because it sounds really amazing!
Cool. Not too spoilerish either.
Amazing!!!
Amazing.
This was pretty awesome to watch, I've liked Batman ever since I was a kid.
Christopher Nolan has done such amazing job bringing Batman to life in his own vision; and I can't wait to see how he ends his trilogy.
If you're worried about spoilers in the video, don't worry, there's maybe 10-15 seconds of actual film footage we hadn't seen before, but that's it. Most of the video we've already seen in trailers or it's behind the scenes stuff.
Simply Amazing!!! We are almost there!
Tom Hardy looks great. I wish Heath could have been around to talk about his character in the TDK featurette and other marketing interviews. No looking back though, everything happens for a reason.
NOT YET.
Michael and Squid win the internet!
If Warner Bros. released this and this only as their marketing campaign, I would still be happy. Teases of everything coming full circle is all I need to satisfy my hunger until the 20th. CAN'T WAIT!!
P.S. who agrees that the child was Bane as a kid?! Are Bane and Batman really polar opposites in this movie (even from a biographical standpoint)?!
I believe that Bane is a dark reflection of Bruce Wayne.
It makes sense too. Maybe Bane and Bruce have some sort of prison connection? ie the beginning of Begins.
yeah, i,m starting to feel a tommy elliot vibe, maybe Nolan's bane has some of it in the mix.
This.
what time is this kid present in the video...?
12.10 only for a second
Where is the kid-bane part? I must keep missing it...
I'm sure he is young Bane.
Sho 'nuff. Looks like kid Bane.
Welcome back, Jenique! Yeah, i think it's young Bane too! But someone said that's could be young Talia... [Joey King had to shave her head for the role]
Yes, I'm back, though I don't exactly know where I've been! lol. I had no idea Joey King had to shave her head for the role. Now that's devotion! I guess we'll have to see!
It looks like there are two 'the Bat' but one operational in black and a gray prototype that is nearest to the entrance.
I suspect that Gordon doesn't really want to know the identity of Batman. Gordon: "Someone local in Gotham with a lot of money to buy things like the Tumbler, Batpod, custom suit, the Bat...has to be a billionaire."
The new Batcave has borrowed elements of GoldenEye. A hidden satellite that is under a lake. The platform is a cube according to production notes, that rises from the water. I guess in Gotham City, contractors don't find it unusual to build inside a Batcave after Batman made headlines in Batman Begins.
Possible spoiler:
Borrowed from Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, in which Gotham City goes to hell, and a retired Bruce Wayne spends his sleepless nights going to the Batcave and itching to return. We see Bruce sitting alone at the computer and in front of his suit asking himself should he make a comeback.
Oh wait wait boy! I'm now half way through with the vid and I felt I needed to write this now!
Oh My God ! Oh My God ! This vid brought a tear to my eyes and I've never felt like this with the other trailers of this movie. It really is awesome seeing the cast and crew in the first featurette. And it shows some really cool shots of the movie.Did you catch this? Maskless Batman in the Batcave with Alfred and The Bat is behind them.I'm loving all the atmosphere of this movie. And this featurette presents it well.
God ! Nolan is a genius.
no raccoon eyes hahah
I remember once bro you left a comment on this site , it said something like " you complete this site EBo " I always remember that comment when I come to this site it ment so much to me and it still does to this day , I ballsed up my rep here and now I have to pay for it with this stalker B.S it has completely ruined any enjoyment I had by coming here , I only come here now out of some sense of obligation to my friends , but I want you to know you complete this site FB .
No.Look.Let's end this here please.Every site you go,it has some commenters or users who have contributed to it more than anyone else. And every site manager respects those guys just like Chris has respected EBo.I have been here for more than a year. And I have seen EBostock and OneEyedWillie have been the best contributors and we respect them because they've been important to the site. They've been here for a long time making the comments sections full of discussions about the movie. And I am their friend. So yes.I do care when he remembers what I said.
Hey man ! Tears in my eyes! Look you don't know how much I feel sorry about your trouble with these impostors.'Cause no matter what you did,he has no right to mess with you and the comments sections we've all kept clean so far.Yeah I said that before and I'm going to say it again. YOU COMPLETE THIS SITE !
Why did I say that? Because:
I remember those days. You and OneEyed were the ones who kept the comments sections full of interesting quotes and idea and things about the movie more than anyone else including me.Damn you even came part of this site much earlier than me.You were the power commenters.Every post was full of your comments. The others left one or two.But you created discussions. And I truly miss those days.
I have one criticism and one request though. You do them, you become the PERFECT guy here.
Criticism: Sometimes after somebody does something to you,you make a comment saying goodbye to everybody. Then after a while you return. And you've done that for a few times. That's not a good way to deal with things. And whenever you make those comments, everyone knows you'll come back again. So what's the point? SO : STAY and don't make those comments. No one wants you off the site if you even mean it.Just stay.
Request: I will tell you my request later. It's nothing.I'll just say it later.
So gay for the EBo. I love it.
You're fully right men. And what's with this stalker crap? Can't people let eachother respectfully enjoy this magnificent website without annoying eachother. To my opinion, it's just a low intelligence kinda thing. I'm not suprised if it would be very low. And also think that comments should be about the post above and not focused on certain regular VERY VERY COOL gents like EBo Rises and FB. Go take you're jealousy somewhere else thank you very much and leave those cool people alone I would say.
Batman: WAR !!
too many daylight shots, it doesnt feel right. this is batman ffs!
Exactly what I've been thinking!
Why would Bane wait until night to strike?
Major Plot Spoilers:
Stop here.
No crybabies.
The featurette did spoil something. N. Crowley, set designer said at 9.00 that there were a lot of underground sets...like Gotham Sewer and this is Bane's home field advantage. Batman gets info from Gordon in the hospital bed, on the location of Bane's underground base, after being flushed out and found by John Blake seen racing in the reservoir in the trailers. Batman goes in knowing it's a trap. The scene of Bane: "Mr. Wayne" and tossing a broken cowl from the trailers is not in the Batcave but the sewers.
Yeah, i dug that mid spoiler too. Interesting stuff...
Thank you, Chris! ;]
holy epic mother of god sweet jesus goddamn cant it just be july 20th already?!?!?!?!?!?!
Possible spoilers:
The production notes states that the workstation rises out of the water. With a switch, it can disappear below the water...now you see it, now you don't.
Not a spoiler. It's known that the cave props/structures will be hidden underwater.
well i think those photos are still awesome so good job
Ahhhhh No Man's Land!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!
so as we are on a batman fan website i was wondering about something
What kind of honor Chris Nolan can receive from DC Comics. Because from my point of view he truly and completely belongs to those great artist who draw the caped crusaders and his marvellous stories. For me he is now on the same level. He creates his own universe and mythology with his own characters (except ra's, bane, catwoman, alfred, rachel, Gordon joker, scarecrow and two face), his own technology. He brings the dark knight to a level thas has overpassed all the previous scheme regarding comic books in cinema.
Can he be considered as a true artist of the dc comics family like kane, finger or miller? he really deserves such an honor for what he has done.
Too much awesomeness, I almost cried.
I seriously have great respect to those people who made the stunts in that airplane scene. Ground action is hard enough, but the one in the air? If I were any director, I would just ask somebody to do special effects (or whatever it is) for me.
And Tom Hardy quoting Alfred. Hehe, somebody is a fan too...
Cop: "What now?"
Batman declare: "War." Very exciting to see Batman as a military general.
'Spoiler' Alert:
The inmates of Blackgate Prison stage a breakout after hearing there's a BYGOF at Foot Locker.
The mayor of Gotham City, frustrated with the dog walkers leaving crap in his city, sends in the National Guard after passing the "I'm not f****** around" Act. Must be re-election season.
Alfred: "I see you're Facebook-stalking Gordon again Master Bruce."
Bruce: "Should I poke him?"
Lame
What's really 'lame' is yourself, like you couldn't continue to live unless you had to post a one word comment that the whole world needs to hear from you. Keep immature negative comments to yourself. Let the rest actually contribute something that your lazy self couldn't do.
God forbid anyone criticizes your posts huh?
You never heard the term 'troll'? Uneducated young people, who can't contribute anything original, entertaining, or news worthy. They exist solely to put people down, an angry fat kid. I'm open for constructive critique, but this is an arm-chair critic that can't even scrabble a complete sentence of thought. It's basically censorship; god forbid anyone should say anything that doesn't ruffle the feathers of trolls.
Ok.... You're right. Lol I just felt bad for the little guy. Thought you may have taken it overboard, but I respectfully take it back. I must say, you do contribute some seriously thought-provoking comments on this site.
But now that I've got your attention, I've got a question for you! Will Batman die in Nolan's epic and true conclusion of this trilogy!? Awhile ago I said hell no, but now I'm seriously beginning to ponder the thought. End the speculation Batman!
It's actually your own fault for reading pass the spoilers. There's a bunch of crybabies that complain about spoilers even though they came to this fan site. Nobody put a gun to their head or yours making you read. I was mocking them or did you not understand 'spoilers' in quotations mean? I don't see you enriching this site, you're too immature to even watch this movie. You're the lame one here, not I.
Shit I think I'm gonna lose my mind after watching this.So Awesome !
Can you believe I have not watched this vid ? Don't want to know any spoilers FB , so close now ! Is it worth it or is it to spoilerific ?
it will tease your mind in the extrem way of it. no spoilers. 10 second at maximum of unseen footage no spoiler about the story or plots. don't worry. i'm on your side i don't love spoilers too.
Not too spoilerific. Everything we already know by reading. The issue here is: the reading turns into images. Wanna see it? LOL
I am about to watch , stay tuned for my reaction LOL : )
You didn't catch the major spoiler?
I guess I'm the only one.
Starts at the 9min mark.
Spoilers below:
I'll put it together for you... Up to today and this 13 minute behind the scenes feature, I and everyone else saw the tv spots and trailers thinking, and using references from the comics, that Bane breaks into the Cave and breaks Batman as their first fight.
Crowley mentions that there were a lot of underground sets, when he said 'sewer' the video editor totally blew it wide open and cut to the waterfalls and catwalks with the chain links. This is the same location we see Bane fast rope down, taunt "Mr. Wayne" and fight a cornered Batman on the catwalks, and tosses a broken cowl. This is important because it confirms other pieces of the plot tightly. Gordon leads a small force of police to the sewers, explosions trap the officers, he gets separated and flushed out of the sewer onto a reservoir in which we see John Blake racing in the water to him. At the hospital, Batman asks Gordon the location of Bane's underground base knowing full well, he will be walking into a trap. This explains the blurry figure overlooking Batman and Bane fight. Surrounded, Batman is forced to fight.
Had Crowley not labeled the sewer as this underground waterfall, it could be left to interpretation that Bane fights Batman at the Cave.
Yeah dude, i knew that, it's alright. Didn't needed to write it all... now take a breath! Breath, breeeaaaath... chill out a little.
There are two groups of people on this site. You got the dumb group that knowingly goes to a fan site and acts like a crybaby when their virgin eyes see a spoiler, then there's the other group that has the smarts to piece it together and come to this site to see if others reach the same conclusions. I don't mind writing at all, it's my job. Can't speak for others, the trolls that like to police other's ideas without coming up anything of their own. I bet it's mostly American-born, who has a harder time at English than immigrants, and the best they can come up with is "lame." Makes the site looks amateurish.
hahah I know, this guy needs to relax
No, I count four groups of people on this site.
1. Regulars
2. Extras (or introverted regulars)
3. Trolls
4. Mr. Freeze
And no, I'm still not smart enough to piece this film together. Thank you Christopher Nolan, thank you.
Hey bro sorry for the very late response to TDKR but i decided to stop internet commenting after all the drama over the last few months but i knew i had to respond to you bro because me and you are the Batman and Robin of BatmanNews.com i know i know your Batman i ll be Robin LOL = ) So here are my thoughts on the film !
1 . Like i always said to you bro i wanted TDKR to be about Bruce s story Nolan delivered 100 % on this
2 . Also like you know i hoped BANE would have a bigger motive than just being evil they totaly wowed me with the twist of BANE being the friend who helped Talia = )
3 . This is the point when i completeley eat humble pie ( do they have this saying in Brazil = ) ) Hathaways Catwoman was awsome she owned the role and the suit looked grest i was wrong all you guys were right !
4 . I wish you could of been there with me bro because i could not believe it as the ending unfolded we were both right ! i told you the final scene would be Alfred standing over Bruce and his parents grave , you said it could be a fake death , we were both right = )
And finaly bro i can not tell you how much i LOL when Blake revealed his real name " Robin " i was totaly thinking of you bro and how i knew you were dreading that moment but i knew you would realy love how they pulled it off = )
This is were i leave bro , i dont know what to say bro ? the only words i can think of are thanks for the friendship and conversation over the last 2 years , if someone had told me 2 years ago i would find someone who loved Batman as much as me and he lived in Brazil i would of LMAO so Thanks bro your a LEGEND and a RAGING MOTHERFUCKER = )
Hey Ebo! Yeah, things got odd here in batman-news... too much newbies and freaks. I'll stop commenting here for a while, you know, let the dust settle down a bit. It was a pleasure talking to you and our brothers Fantaboy, Antro, Chsox, Diogo, QueenChaos, Unique, Basti, The fallen, and everybody who made this site so cool!
Like i said before, it was part of my life to come over and speculate about TDKR, all ideas and conversations were pretty fun and you're a great guy, good friend. Hope to see you around soon! I'd give you my email, but i'm afraid some freak might use it. :/
About TDKR, here it goes:
1- Loved the closure of Bruce's journey, but i think the Batman had few time on screen. A bit more would be perfect!
2- Yeah, it isn't Nolan style creating unidimensional characters, so his Bane was AWESOME, much better than the comics!
3- Told ya! ;)
4- It was perfect, best ending ever!
5- Well, like i said... Nolan did the impossible by giving Robin's character a dignified portrayal! Tough mission!!
That's it, you crazy brit! Thank you for sharing so many good times during these 2 years! It was pretty awesome! Hope you enjoy the olympics and nail some chicks, your country might be boiling of tourists right now! That is what a good RAGING MOTHERFUCKER like us would do!!!
Cheers, and see ya!
Bane's eyes... amazing.
" Damaged by his experiences " I can relate to that bro !
I was buttraped by my uncle
I was buttraped by my uncle
I was raped by my uncle :(
Aren't those people in the background Selina and Blake?
Hey nice catch! I hadn't seen them before. But it's not Selina.
Nice. Thanks.
Nothing significant enough to be called a spoiler. Gets you very excited to see the movie!!
It's a huge risk anytime a director of a summer tent-pole that costs a studio a quarter billion dollars give or take... marketing&merchandise, releases anything could risk plot leakage. All that we see is carefully edited by professionals working closely with Nolan, weeks in advance so that the plot stays under lock and key. It would be a disservice to fans and the actors that signed confidentiality agreements if the plot came to light. I personally saw the feature as too revealing. Piecing the tv spots, trailers, behind the scenes, early press reviews, and production notes...I already know more than half the plot.
Spoiler:
However, Crowley did identify that the first encounter between Bane and Batman was at the sewer/Bane's base of operations...hence home field advantage. Many thought Bane would break Batman in the cave like in the comics. But this featurette, which showed too much of the unseen aspects of the Sewer/Batcave, revealed the trailer scene of Bane fast rope down, "Mr. Wayne" on the catwalk, and tossing a broken cowl at the sewers. This explains the blurry figure in the background overlooking Batman fighting Bane from months ago.
I've thought for some time now that their first confrontation would occur in that underground location, which was indicated as the "sewers" from this video, so for me it still was not a spoiler. However, my previous sentence appropriately reflects the truth: that it was only my "thought."
There are many angles of this film that I "think" I know, but then I see a shot or a scene from a trailer and it leaves my mind chasing after its tail (yes, I know, my mind does have a tail). That is why I claim this video wasn't a spoiler. Does it provide evidence to some theories, yes. But true giveaways to the actual plot, we won't know until July 20th my friend!
I can't wait for that conversation between Bruce and Alfred
IMO, Michael Mann's influence is still pretty strong in this movie. I bet that conversation between Bane and Bruce Wayne will become a classic.
And the way Nolan portrayed Bane in the featurette, it's almost like McCauley and Hanna. Same person, same spirit in the same chain but totaly at the opposite place.
I am so excited for this movie! Watching the clips and features just make my anticipation grow and my stomach do flips.
Holy!!!!!!!
CHILLS.
This will be..the finale to end all finales.
I am so impressed with Chris Nolan; phenomenal director doing real justice to Batman as a trilogy.
Nolan is doing some subtle social commentary, "controversial" as reported in the press screening. Look at the Harvey Dent Act. That is easy to draw parallels to reality, Patriot Act, PIPA, SOPA, CISPA...it's an attack on civil liberties in the name of fighting terror. Then you have this W. Bush character, played out by Batman that has declared "war" and will do anything, even operate in the daytime, to fight Bane. We have seen the magnitude of collateral damage in real life and now it will play out similarly in the movie. Nolan's epic movie will tackle modern issues like the 99% versus the 1%.
M. Caine said in an interview about TDK, that movie works on two levels. You can read the social commentary on fighting terrorism, but "you only know it's there if you look for it"....otherwise it's just a great action movie, and that's fine too.
I'm betting that Nolan has come back to tell a story much more layered than a simple Batman fights Bane. The youth will see that story but that's just a vehicle for the mature people will see another story built on top of it.
