Warner Bros. announced on Twitter that a novelization of The Dark Knight Rises will be available on July 20th, when The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters. The book is available for pre-order at Amazon, and should be available on July 20th wherever books are sold.
Titan Books will be publishing the novel, and while Dennis O'Neil was responsible for the Batman Begins and The Dark Knight novels, Greg Cox is the author of The Dark Knight Rises' novelization.

Dangit. I was hoping it would have one of those "Sneak Peak" sections where you get to read part of the book. Another possible spoiler alludes my grasp. :(

Isnt this the guy who did the underworld series??..He has a pretty dark-er adaptions of them!..Great news this!
Novelization??..This was unpredictable..I think Nolan's releasing this as a marketing strategy..IM DEAD SURE "TDKR" WILL BE AS INTRIGUING AND ASTONISHING AS INCEPTION..or more..the novel explains it all..and it will explain !! :D..Damn Damn exciting..great move by nolan/WB..perfect.Epic!!

And the novel is written by a different author based off of Nolan(s)/Goyer screenplay

I'm not sure, I saw it in a bookstore. Its what you expect with a novel, everything is in detail...I may end up buying out of curiosity.
Cannot wait till this movie comes out....only thing I'm looking forward to this summer (is that sad? lol)

Personally, I think Prometheus and Dark Knight Rises are the only movies that look like they're going to be awesome. The first GI Joe movie was horrible. So it's safe to assume this new one is going to be equally as bad. The only saving grace is featuring Bruce Willis, and let's face it, he's 57 years old...there won't be much he still does, in terms of action scenes. As for The Hobbit, call me crazy but I didn't like any of the Lord of the Rings movies. Fantasy nerd stuff is just not my cup of tea. The Amazing Spiderman is probably going to be a teenage romantic Twilight-esque picture - also, not my cup of tea. Andrew Garfield looks like he's about 15 years old. Battleship looks absolutely terrible. It's based on a board game that now features aliens. It's even got Rihanna cast in it. Need I say more?
Sorry if I sound overly negative, I'm just being honest.
I am going to see Iron Maiden and Coheed and Cambria play this summer, so that'll kick any movie's ass...maybe not TDKR's...
Is it weird that I had a dream of picking up a dark knight rises book the night before?....
I don't see the deal with novelizations of movies.

1. See the movie in the cinema
2. Read the book
3. See it one more time in the cinema
4. Find a decent Pirated version to tide me over until the BLU-RAY hits
5. Buy the BLU-RAY watch the film about a million more time = )

This was available for pre-order on Amazon etc. for a few months now, same author, description, cover listed on the Amazon page...
I'll be looking forward to this. There's nothing that I like more than a good book. If the book just happens to contain Batman, well, that's even better. Every book should contain Batman in some way. Some could even be made better that way. Just imagine it; Of Mice and Batmen, To Kill A Batman, Batman Shrugged, A Tale of Two Batmen, Batman Vs. Moby-Dick!
Novel released the same day as the movie? Won't this make it a LOT easier for a plot leak to surface before Jul. 20? Good luck with that.

I'm glad it's Greg Cox. I hated The Dark Knight novelization. It felt like Dennis O'Neil got caught by a deadline. The beginning of the novel was over-explained and drawn out, and the end felt like he was cutting and pasting from the script.

I am a Batman fan and i dont even give a SH*T about TDKR right now = ( WB need to get a clue no one knows or cares about BANE start marketing Catwoman unless they are SH*T scared with what Hathaway has delivered we already know the costume is hated !
Yeah, i'm afraid you're right... i agree that TDKR has been owned in marketing, specially by PROMETHEUS - which is the real rival in terms of film. I thought was a little bit strange that WB released the Dr Pavel viral and then... stoped completely! My fire rised and now... is kinda tepid... shame!
