'The Dark Knight Rises' will not be at Comic-Con 2012, says HitFix

Last week a rumor was going around online stating that Christopher Nolan would be bringing The Dark Knight Rises (along with members of the cast) to Comic-Con, marking his first appearance at the big show. Comic-Con 2012 begins on July 12th this year, a week before The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 2oth. Many fans had hoped to get a sneak peek at the big comic book convention, but a tweet from Drew of HitFix.com has put an end to the speculation.

I can state with absolute authority that "The Dark Knight Rises" will not be at ComicCon. Don't believe the rumors, kids.

I think that Drew's sources hold a bit more weight than those of Best Movies Ever News, the site where this rumor originated. While many fans may be upset about this news, look on the bright side... The Dark Knight Rises is only 116 days away!

I figured this would be the case, the entire story line would be out before 99.99% of the rest of the world would get to see it. I think it's a good decision. Did you guys hear that the rough cut for The Dark Knight Rises got a standing ovation from Warner Bros. executives? I don't know how much it means, since they were obviously very biased, but I guess it's something to be excited about...

Not totally discounting it. I'm sure the movie is great enough to warrant some ovation, but the execs at WB applauding a movie released by WB is like a little kid performing a magic trick in front of his parents.

That is really disappointing, because I was sincerely hoping that Comic-Con would promote a new clip to be released (as Comic-Con goes) but that is okay, I guess. I just want some more stills or something.

Unique, don't worry! The new trailer is coming out by late April, begining of May... TV spots will follow it until the ComiCon. I've my sources here in Brazil! ;)

The Hollywood Reporter claims that TDKR directorChristopher Nolan screened his first, rough cut of his final Batman film for Warner Bros. execs in Burbank today, including studio film boss Jeff Robinov and production president Greg Silverman.

"The movie doesn't open until July 20, but Nolan has allowed himself plenty of time to fine-tune the movie as he and the brass see fit," said THR. "Sources say Nolan has been a fixture on the Warners lot over the past few days after finishing a months-long shoot and editing process."

The article says how Nolan wanted to keep it a surprise so I had hoped that they were just trying to keep it a surprise now by saying they weren't going. But hey, what's one more week when I've been waiting for 4 years lol!:)

Thats a cool idea maybe start it when it hits 100 days to go , then every day have some kind of fact or picture to just mark the countdown , maybe something for Chris to think about ?
