'The Dark Knight Rises' will not be 4 hours long, not even close

Just to clear some confusion: I have no idea how long "The Dark Knight Rises" rough cut is. "4 hours" was a joke taken too literally.

Every so often there's a crazy rumor that gets picked up by various websites, and then things get out of hand. I want to clear one up for you right now, my dear Batman-News.com readers. You may have come across a story on your favorite movie site, claiming that Christopher Nolan's first cut of The Dark Knight Rises was four hours long. This rumor originated from an MTV article which said that editing for The Dark Knight Rises was completed "presumably in the form of a four-hour rough cut." While MTV never intended for this to be treated as news, some sites ran with it, taking the comment to heart. The article has since been corrected, and the author even took to Twitter to clear up the confusion.

The Dark Knight Rises is Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie, so I suspect it could be a little on the long side as he wraps up his Batman trilogy. But I wouldn't expect it to be too much longer than The Dark Knight, which clocked it at 152 minutes.

  That's just speculation at this point, but it's very likely to come out around that time. I'm working on getting some confirmation.

4 hours would have been way too long. But I wouldn't mind an extended version for DVD/Blu Ray. But that is highly unlikely also.

Yeah man, 4 hours would've been insane. We won't know the final runtime until probably a month from the release date.

I would have no problem if the time length is as long as The Dark Knight. No need to rush the end of this trilogy. I prefer a three hour epic finale than an expediant clusterf*ck for the sake of the A.D.D fans

Now the question remains:How long is TDKR really?My guess is it's longer than TDK but not much.Like about 160 or 170 minutes.

4 hours with an intermission would be all right by me. I don't know why, but for some reason I can be in school, busy in class, for at least 4 hours without having to go to the bathroom -- but when I'm in a theatre, I just can't hold it that long. :P

Man I would gladly watch a 4 hour epic of the final conclusion to one of the greatest franchises ever made. Though in reality, the movie would most likely be 2 hours and 45 minutes which wouldn't be all that bad considering Nolan makes sound pacing and editing as seen in his previous films.

    That didn't even seem like an attempt to answer his question. He was referring to Bane's height and the fact that "realistically" he shouldn't be able to pick him up and break his back.
    However, in fact, if you're short in height, then your base of gravity is closer to the ground and thus more stable. I'm pretty sure with that fact coupled with the fact that he's obviously quite strong, he'd easily lift Batman over his waist and snap him. Maybe not "like a twig" but he'll probably manage something.

It's gonna be 4-hours of Bane and Bat Man rubbin muscles all sweaty! Can't wait.
In TDK Bruce Wayne took his shirt off like 6 times and when I saw his muscles I creamed my jeans.
