you lose haha
Oh thanks alot Batman news!!!! now i have to clean all this jizz up
Is it me or does the last picture of Batman on the batpod actually FEEL oretty darn intimidating? I looked at the picture suddenly my body temperature dropped and I felt chills running down my spine!
:-D
Thanks for posting Chris! Visiting this site is a great experience! Everyime again. :-)
I think you're either gay for Batman, or just plain horny for this movie.
No.@04bc9825c01ddcde281158531a4accc2:disqus is right, speaking as a true Batfan. That photo is intimidating. He looks impressive in it...But if you don't care about it that much, this comment sounds funny for ya.
..........I'm gay for batman
Like Russell Crowe would yell: Praetorian!! Suddenly I feel the need to describe a certain scene in a certain movie where a razorsharp blade is thrown out of nowhere towards a..
I think you will get the point... *laughs*
i like mr.fox's new toy ! !
Only batman can hold a taser and look so damn cool :D
I wonder what that gun does, it's not the sticky bomb gun. Maybe he needed a bigger flashlight.
Maybe Bane beats him blind and he needs that thing to see. Like sonar batman
I wonder if it shoots out glitter.LOL
Come on now Darrell, everyone knows it is huge an iPod!
I want one! Does it come in black?
No, just white.
I could see that conversation with the Tumbler.
Bruce:"Does it come in black?"
Lucius:"No."
Bruce:"I'll take it in this camo color then."
Lucius:"Actually these models are only for tests, they aren't the final models."
Bruce:"Well what color does it come in?"
Lucius:"White."
I'll take one in white then, But I better get a discount.
Bane looks big enough to be credible as a physical threat to Batman. I'm glad he doesn't look like the comic. That would just be cartoonish. I read somewhere that in the comic he's supposed to be 6'8" and 400 lbs. Jeep Swenson, the guy who played Bane in Batman & Robin was 6'4" and 405 lbs. Lou Ferrigno is 6'5" and over 300 lbs. Sorry, but I'll take a good actor who looks smaller than the comicbook version over someone who looks the part, but isn't a very good actor. Seriously, what actor out there could not only look the part, but give a truly memorable performance?
Yep, i agree BigNose. Jeep Swenson looked ridiculous, he is an insult to Batman seriously, spandex, a shitty mask, unreal looking vascularity. Plain ridiculous. with Hardy as Bane, we get a great actor who put on good quality mass and looks intimidating and realistic.
Batman & Robin was a clear misuse of the Bane character but that movie was a cartoon compaired to this one. Bane is a dominant unmovable object not a dumb ass. WB dropped the ball on that one.
Batman & Robin was misuse period.
That's true.
No, Batman & Robin was abuse
couldn't agree more.
watch "Warrior" with Hardy, then tell me what you think
You should watch Bronson either right after or before Warrior then tell me what you think
Watch them both at the same time and tell me what you think.lol
Also, people seem to lose sight of the fact that it's Christopher Nolan who is directing the movie. Nolan goes for realism, not over-the-top fiction like the previous [pre-Nolan] movies. People keep saying Bane is small because they are comparing him to the freakishly large fictitious Bane from the comic books. But if you look at this from a real life point of view, and you didn't even know who Bane was and you saw someone looking like Tom Hardy in the same military gear in real life, you wouldn't say "oh he's so small", you'd say "damn, that guy is pretty fucking jacked up!"
I think people need to be consistent. If you're going to criticize Tom Hardy for not being big enough, then what about everyone else? Heath Ledger doesn't look like The Joker of the comics. Aaron Eckhardt doesn't look like Harvey Dent. Michael Caine looks nothing like Alfred. Even Christian Bale isn't as tall or buff as Bruce is in the comics. So at some point, you have to say this is good enough. You're never going to find someone who looks like they walked off the page. In the end, what matters is honoring the spirit of the character.
Im impressed with how Jim Gordan looked in these Nolan films, he was cast perfectly I think, sometimes its like he just came right out of the comics haha great casting that deffinetley was
Looking at that picture I have the sudden urge to quote Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry.
nice pics!
Great photos, very high quality indeed.
P.S. To all idiots who said that they couldn't stand 132 mintes of Tom Cruise just to watch 'The Dark Knight Rises' prologue, I can only say that 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' is the best action movie of the year... as a matter of fact, of the last 15 years. Check out the critical reaction, I assure you that every praise is well deserved. If you don't like the movie, you know as much about good cinema as a donkey's ass.
Well said.
Agreed!! In fact.. speaking of Tom cruise & Chris "God of motion picture" Nolan under one theater roof... I think Chris Nolan should direct 'Top Gun 2' with Tom cruise as 'top gun instructor' and Christian Bale as Maverick.. Imagine the awesomeness of those dogfight sequences with Chris Nolan & Wally Pfister behind the IMAX Cameras and his great storytelling ability!! whoa...
Actually, I was watched 'Top gun' right after TDKR prologue last night :-)
**I watched 'Top gun' right after TDKR prologue last night :-)
The best action movie of the last 15 years?
You bet. It has got very few equals in terms of stunning set pieces, flawlessly directed action scenes and breath-holding, heart-stopping moments. "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" from 1996 is the last one that can really be compared to "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol". You can have your own opinion, of course, but the critical response to the movie supports mine. Mind that I'm talking about pure action movies here, not superhero flicks, like "The Dark Knight", "Batman Begins" or "Iron Man, nor about sci-fi like "Inception". And the people, who I'm calling idiots in my first post, are only the blind Tom Cruise haters who try to be cool by bashing arguably the most successful action star of the last 20 years.
Thank you Warner Bros.! Every single official pic of Batman or Bane or Catwoman can make you excited about this film! You hear?! Catwoman! We just had one pic of her! We need more!
Doesn't the suit look slightly different than the one in dark knight? Btw sick pictures!
No, it just looks darker 'cause of the lighting... Rather than all the grey tones to it.
In the pictures with the batpod he has things over his shoulders, new equipment?
Bane is a really calm guy.He doesn't looks insane or angry. He's very charismatic.
Yet you get really intimidated by his look.
Yea, thats whats so cool about his character. It looks like he is cold, ruthless, uncompromising, methodical, and brutal. He doesn't seem to let emotion get the better of him which makes him so intimidating. Cant wait to see how he plays out in the movie. No doubt Tom Hardy will deliver.
Absolutely love the one of Batman with... well, whatever that thing is.
After seeing Bronson i totally have faith in Hardy as Bane
Hey dude, i know you from CBM forums... i still go there but i gave up of commenting. Too much distress for my taste!
This is a very nice drawing! Like the style!
Yea dude you r so right bout there comment section! But i don't really mind it oh well lol :-) Oh n i think the drawing was inspired by Batman TAS: Almost Got'Im which was a pretty bad ass show watching it right now as matter of fact lol
Isn't that a difference?(It's been circled in the TDKR pic.The other one is from TDK)
yes...interesting indeed
I noticed it when Empire's pics were released. But now with the better quality,I thought I should share it with you.
I'm not 100% sure if it's The Dark Knight suit. It looks similar, but there are some small differences in design, and the shoulder blades and center Bat-symbol look different.
It wouldn't be surprising if the suit received some changes considering it's 8 years later. Although Batman has been gone for 8 years so it could just as easily be the same suit.
I think it's just the angle, man... definitely it's the TDK suit IMO.
But I really can't see the thin part which is visible in TDK suit.It looks like it's been removed making his arms look bigger.Maybe that's a modified suit?!
I am not expecting a new suit but I do expect modifications to it.(After Bane defeats Batman/When he rises)
The shoulder armor is 2 segments. You just can't see all of the second layer in the TDKR shot.
there's absolutely no difference in the images apart from batman has his head down in one, and then has managed to raise his head up in the other. I really dont think that JGL will become Batman, it's too farfetched. At most John Blake will wear a Rogues jersey with that little R symbol when he's off duty perhaps. A cheeky hint at a Batman sidekick is the most Nolan will stretch to.
I didn't mean JGL becomes Batman.I don't like the idea.I just think the suit seems a little different in some pics.(Batman improving his suit, perhaps)
there is no difference! the straps are there on the original
Guys.seems fantasyboy is right.
1st pic is REC from arkham city
I'm looking carefully to the photos... And I really can't say that the man behind the mask is Bruce Wayne. I mean, we have to consider the fact that Bruce Wayne falls... But the Dark Knight Rises, with JGL taking over as Batman. Looking at JGL in other photos, I really can't tell if it is him or Bale behind the mask...
I think maybe [big maybe], eventually, in a extreme situation, JGL could wear the batsuit to help out Wayne... but just for a specific moment. I'd accept that, but that's all.
I agree, I would rather have Catwoman fill in the shoes of Batman instead of JGL's character dressing up as the Batman. It makes no sense at all. I dun get why people keep suggesting that John Blake will become Batman or Robin or whatever... he's a cop, I really dun believe he is anything more or less. I believe his role is pivotal but not to the extent of becoming Batman himself or becoming Robin. Such bad speculating!
I have the Batman cover! I'm eager to see all this in ULTRA HIGH-RES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone has any doubts about Tom Hardy playing Bane (his height, his aggressiveness, him being a total bad ass), I would encourage you to watch "Warrior" before making anymore judgments. He is a monster in "Warriror" and a complete bad ass and someone you do not want to f--- with.
You cannot tell, on any level how tall he is or isn't -- in fact the way that movie makes him look, you'd think he was a 6"3 beast, because he is totally jacked the f--- up. He's huge.
'Warrior" is also one of the best movies of the year and Hardy is amazing in it. I would encourage you all to watch that over the Holidays, great movie!
Warrior is amazing, Hardy is a real killer actor! He was beastly in Bronson,
since the begining i had no doubt he's gonna rock as Bane. I think we'll see high doses of savagery and badassery from him in TDKR.
yea after seeing bronson and warrior there is no doubt in my mind he will make a great bane. When they show him in the octagon just destroying guys and having that crazy look in his eyes you could tell thats a perfect fit for bane
Also take a closer look at the trailer. In the shot with Bane walking up the stairs to Batman, Bane looks huge in size comparison.
Warrior is the best movie i've seen this year. i have much respect for Hardy. he pulled off the emotional side plus the brutal side in that movie. i have no doubt he'll be awesome both for BatFans and regular movie-goers. the only slight problem i think people will have (not me) is catching up to what he's saying...=)
You know, people shouldn't doubt a character base solely on its physical traits... I mean look at what Chris Nolan did to all the villains in his new Batman films, they are very different from the comics but they work for the story and that is all that matters. So its natural that Bane will be different from the comics. As long as Bane has similar characteristics and motivations as the comics, it should be fine. I love how Nolan is taking such an interesting comic book character and making it into something new and refreshing.
@Tavaresgj hahahahaha WTF pictures are you looking at?
The ones that you haven't seen
grow up,tom and shirtlesslocke
More of the same again... i wanna see a overflow of production's pic, just as we saw in TDK!
Bane looks massive in that photo!
a couple of news posts back I asked for some photoshop help making a wallpaper, no one helped :( So i decided to try my best and make my bane wallpaper this is the final result if anyone can make it more epic please feel free to do so hope everyone enjoys http://i.imgur.com/BXHnH.jpg
Not a bad wallpaper
i don't have anything against Hardy. he's an amazingly good actor.
but guys what do you think if Vin Diesel played Bane?!
Vin Diesel? He wouldn't make a good Bane at all in my opinion. He's built yeah, but he's not really intimidating in a menacing sense. Or cold. He's just "badass" or "cool".
He'd never capture the character of Bane.
that's what i thought i mean he looked the part but he didnt fit it....in most of the other fourms people say Diesel would be great as Bane!!
I agree most definitely, Vin Diesel isn't a very diverse actor... he's always typecast as a "cool" character. You'll never see him playing say a person who is a emotional man that is addicted to heroin or whatever and goes through intense pain and suffering as he tries to quit. Can you see Vin Diesel crying pathetically? Hardly... until he can truly bring the audience to believe that he is really breaking down and crying his heart out, he'll never become what defines a "good" actor. Same with people like Jason Statham. Typecast to the butt.
If I wanted to watch a movies with an ape as a main character I'd watch planet of the apes.
he is an awful actor compared to hardy!
there were only two options to the role of Bane .... Hardy and the guy from Titanic and The Mummy i cant recall his name at this moment
Thank You Warner Bros. all these pics are amazing and the HQ is mind blowing
The picture of Batman and the mystery gun is a big one...He is wearing a back brace and extra padding...I think someone might have broken his back.
no
JGL is in charge of Gordons unit. that is all...
Thank you. I'm personally sick of hearing about how JGL character is going to take up Batman's mantle at the end of TDKR, if you head over to CBM they have articles up (written by absolute morons) talking about Batman dying and John Blake taking over as Gotham's new guardian (WTF?) this is the same site that reported JGL gets shot in the head in this movie.
So far I've heard Batman will die, Alfred will be dead, Gordon, well he's practically dead already, Lucius he'll get killed off, John Blake is sure to die, The League of Shadows destroys Wayne Manor (again) and enter the Batcave (won't happen btw), Bane will destroy Gotham and the movie ends with Bane standing over Gotham victorious......hence the title The Dark Knight Rises.
You have to seriously wonder how stupid these people are. Just because the tagline for this movie is "The Legend Ends" doesn't mean Batman will die, some of these retarded morons who post senseless crap need to reestablish themselves with what the word Legend actually means. "Legend meaning or pertaining to fable, myth referring to fictitious stories" -- which in the context it's being used as could refer to multiple different interpretations, not necessarily directly referencing Batman. And just for the record, Warner Brothers has never, ever said they officially plan to re-boot this series after TDKR, that was an opinion/interpretation made up by some BS outlet (most likely BOF).
Thank you, GodofKnight, I'm also incredibly sick of hearing about JGL. I've been trying to convince people that it's rubbish..
Batman will not die, because as I said in an earlier comment, this is still a comic book superhero movie at heart, meant for a wide range of age groups. If the hero is going to die, there better be a damn good reason for it. Nolan doesn't just kill people for the sake of it. This movie will be about Batman rebuilding himself after falling to rock bottom at the end of The Dark Knight and getting physically crushed in The Dark Knight Rises.
Not to mention Nolan understands that you cannot do too much in a movie. I mean, introducing Bane and Catwoman, wrapping up their stories in the same movie, wrapping up Bruce's, Batman's and the entire trilogy's stories...there's a lot to do. It just wouldn't be plausible.
Furthermore, "The Legend Ends, The Dark Knight Rises", makes sense to me when I perhaps think of the ending of the comic The Dark Knight Returns. I feel that it's possible that "Batman" will end, but Bruce Wayne will continue to work for Gotham from the shadows.
The only character who I think stands a good chance to die is Fox. Considering we haven't seen him in any footage or whatnot, either he plays a really small part in the movie or he's going to get some really bad news. It would also make sense how Bane gets access to Tumblers.
I agree. L. Fox, my guess, is going to be killed. And Batman will avenge him, also. The only person between Bane and the Tumblers is... Fox. With this said, something bad is going to happen to him...
Nooo, I love Mr. Fox. I hope he does not die. I feel that Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and Lucius Fox is the three most core people/players associated with Batman. If any one of them dies, then Batman just isn't the same without them. I think something will happen to Fox but nothing as extreme as death. Just as Gordon is in a hospital and Alfred emotionally broke, Fox will also experience something similar to the other characters... but death? I think thats alittle too much. If someone must die, let it be someone else close but not these core characters.
CBM has a history of posting fake stories and then yanking them when everyone realizes its fake.
Yup - I've already been warned from my wonderful new pals over here at batman-news.com how crummy Comic Book Movie is. I can't stand their childish rants. But I got a laugh at how you put nearly everyone in Gotham will die by the way. hahaha! Bunch of bull!
i'd have to disagree with you there but when i saw the footage they show in IMAX it look like he had some light device mounted onto the side of the batpod as well. Got me thinking that maybe he uses it to specify targets for the batwing to shoot. Anyone who has played Call of Duty will know in the campaign you often get to parts where to mark targets with a laser. So as he is moving around on the ground the batwing will follow like a drone and accurately take out targets he marks
