It's been a big week for The Dark Knight Rises! Last Thursday the press got an early look at the prologue, and fans will be able to see it themselves at select IMAX theaters this week. But those who only have regular movie theaters will be treated to The Dark Knight Rises trailer #2. As Batman-News.com reported back in November, the full trailer will debut with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows on December 16th. IMAX has also confirmed via Twitter that the trailer will play in front of digital IMAX showings of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Bootlegged copies will probably leak online this week, but I'll post it in all its HD glory when it's officially released online (probably on Monday, December 19th). The trailer is 2 minutes and 3 seconds long, which is just 2 seconds shy of The Dark Knight's first full trailer. Take a look at it after the break to get a better idea of what we can expect to see when The Dark Knight Rises trailer #2 debuts in just a few days.
'The Dark Knight Rises' trailer #2 hits theaters on Friday

Unfair world! :( Just saw the first trailer online, because I'm living outside the UK and USA :/ Maybe it's the second that I'll see on the big screen...

With the "This trailer has been approved..." message they may end up being the same length. Didn't think of that...

Now the question is can I resist the bootleg until the HD version hits ?

Trick or treat! Why not both?? :-D

Of course you can! See,it's simple:You can't see the prologue at all,so it doesn't matter if you could wait for it,because you'd never see it until the movie comes. So take my words!See the bootleg version of the prologue AS SOON AS it hits the net.Don't hesitate! But when it comes to the trailer...because you'll get to see it about 3 days later,WAIT! It's worth it! Compare the prologue situation with this and then you realize you CAN!

Nevermind! Resisting to TDKR trailer will have dangerous effects on your health.I forgot to consider this aspect of the issue. So I take back my words!

I'm trying to see this M:I 4 in IMAX but it's all the way in Madisonfor me and that's like an 1 1/2 drive from my house. I might just bootleg it also. But I am seeing Sherlock Holmes 2 so that's something :-)

I am going to watch the prologue bootleg as well, but I am concerned that with the immense size of an Imax screen that whoever records it will capture half of whats showing, oh well beggars cant be choosers

Who ever is going to see the trailer. Please someone tape it and put it on youtube. For the ones that don't have a lot of money. :(

Funny how the first shot in TDK trailer is the last shot of the film. Looks like theres some alternate/unused footage in this trailer.

That's what i like in Nolan's trailers: they show lots of things and show nothing at the same time! I remember Inception trailer, the folding city part, i thought it was a major important part of the film, but in fact, it wasn't! Same with TDK - even if we've been watching it over and over, we can't figure the flick out properly!

As opposed to the trailers of every single Spider-Man movies... You could figure out the whole plot by watching them.

In Batman Begins Nolan turned (sorry for my english) Sergeant Gordon into Lieutenant and gave us a hope.
With TDK Nolan turned (again, sorry) Gordon from Lieutenant into Commissioner and incepted to us the idea of losing hope by killing Dent and keeping that event in secret from again - "us" and at the same time gave the hope - "Sometimes the truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more".
In TDKR Nolan turns (sorry for sorrys) Gordon from Commissioner into "IDONTKNOWWHAT" and from the synopsis introduces a terrorist leader who is strong and intelligent as well pushing Batman to his limits (as in TDK by joker) AND Beyond! what is that beyond - "IDONTKNOWWHAT" and fuck I want to see this movie so bad4 likes
I didnt mind the first Sherlok Holmes ( i think the fact the BBC s SHERLOCK was so good hurt it ) so i havent ruled out seeing the trailer on the BIG screen , thankfuly the normal cinema is 5 mins from were i live , unlike The IMAX ( I am still bitter , i know = )

Watching this trailer for TDK reminded me of just how big a role the city of Chicago played in the first two films. It's a shame they couldn't film there for the third film. I just hope shooting in Pittsburgh, NY, and LA doesn't make it abundantly obvious that Batman is in a new city.
Great point , but did you not feel that already happened from BB to TDK , the way Gotham was presented in both films was worlds apart , i prefered BB s Gotham , it had a level of grime and evil i felt was missing in TDK
2 likes
See I actually preferred TDK's version of Gotham because you always got the sense that this was a real city. The scenes at the train station and in The Narrows were obviously filmed on a studio soundstage which detracts from the film.
That may be true, but the first two films had already established that Gotham looks like Chicago. Plus, when you think of organized crime, you think of Chicago. Given that the mob was a big part of the first two films, Chicago seemed more fitting.

Yeah, maybe because BB has sepia tones, but it's true: BB Gotham is much more interesting. Gotham in TDK is too sofisticated, not "decayed" enough!
I agree but TDK didn't focus on the same kind of neighborhood that BB did. TDK is more "political" = great buildings = an other face of Gotham, the rich one. Maybe we'll those both faces of Gotham in TDKR...

Hope so it would be cool to see The Narrows again !

I'm actually happy they didn't shoot at Chicago at all. It would have been nice for continuity purposes, but Gotham was really too much like Chicago in TDR. Si at least this time, Gotham will be a mix of many cities.

has anyone thought about who was really behind all the crazyness in THE DARK KNIGHT??? I mean JOKER made HARVEY DENT turn to the dark side so to speak..the mob paid THE JOKER alot of money to take care of BATMAN even though he didnt care about the money..I wonder who was behind all of the chaos and will they emerge in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES..its hard to believe because THE DARK KNIGHT RISES takes place 8 years later..any thought???

Watch carefully the main page. That a little point on the top of that pic what looks exatcly like Liam Nesson.Ras Al Ghul is back? The poster image has the "Liam Nesson face" between the E and G in Legend. And no, its not a fanboy histeria, its really there, see it in the official site http://www.thedarkknightris...

Holly crap there is a face there!
you're looking too deep into the poster. the only message that is there is that batman will get "broken", pun intended, by Bane ....that "face" that you see is just meerly a rain drop: nothing more. i do expect Liam Neeson to reprise his role as Ras Al Ghul in TDKR, just for a few scenes though as he will more than likely be there in flashback training a younger Bane.

C'mon, man! It's like seeing Bin Laden's face in the WTC burning smoke! You need a medication [= trailer] hehehe

I agree dude there definitely is a face. If you zoom WAY in to the upper left of Bane's head there's' definitely a face. It's way too eerily shaped to be a rain drop. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but it definitely seems as though the artist slipped a little extra something in there for the fans

What's very interesting is that on the home page image it's by Bane's head and in the Official Poster it's between the E and G. I can't see any other element that's out of place between the two versions of the poster. I think it was done intentionally. But who's to say that's not the Joker's face?
This blur have the Nesson's nose HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA but seriously, the "face" have been post in a very meticulosy place to been just a rain drop or whatever.Have more there than we think.
