Batpod and Batwing zoom down 'The Dark Knight Rises' set (video)

Batman-News.com reader Tyler sent in a video he shot on Sunday night which shows Batman on his Batpod zooming down the streets of ~~Gotham~~ Los Angeles. So far we've only seen Catwoman on the Batpod in The Dark Knight Rises, this scene must be before she "borrows" it.

I've embedded another video after the break which shows the Batwing flying over the streets, with the help of some wires. It's great to see that Christopher Nolan is continuing to shoot his movies in the most realistic way possible for his audience. Check it out!

Awesome! I am thinking now that with the first video, that (maybe) would be the first scene right out of the movie! No 3-D necessary! And also, about the spolier about Brue using a cane, I think now is that he still suffering from that fall in TDK not Bane breaking his back. It could be, but I don't know, we all are still in the dark about the plot!

About that SPOILER involving the cane... I agree with u,, it can be the fall from TDK or a fight with bane, but not a "bane breaks bruce's back" moment... if they break your back (I have a friend with a surfing accivent that broke some of hiv vertebrae) u just cant walk... period. No cane, no cruthces no nothing... if noln made baen "break" batman and then puts him on a cane, it will not feel believable at all.

  Yeah coz when you look back at the end of TDK he can't really run properly when he's running to jump on his batpod. He's definately hurt, this scene filmed when he gets out of his car could be right near the beginning of the movie. Its not much of a spoiler as far as i'm concerned

    Not to mention he was beat pretty bad by The Joker then shot by Harvey Two Face followed by that nasty fall, so he was messed up by then.

      Haha yeah I think after being attacked by rottweilers, beaten with a metal pole by the joker, shot by harvey then fall from a building I think batman's had better days lol

  my friend broke his back last year and he had a back brace that connected to his neck and he was a stiff ruler basically but he can still walk haha so he probably did get hurt from TDK

I agree 100%! We can't all jump to conclusions with some random spy videos... not saying that your point is for sure (nothing is for sure with Nolan), but after all, Batman WAS limping towards the Batpod in TDK, and it could be very plausible that is the case.... And i really doubt Bane will "break" Batman's back... It would take a LONG TIME for him to recover, and he wouldn't even be able to use a cane. he'd be paralyzed in bed...

A Batcopter seems pretty ordinary to me and would take away from the potential awesomeness of this aircraft. I say it's a hover vehicle. With a rotor it's just a weird looking helicopter, but a hovering aircraft (no rotor) looks much more badass.

Can someone remind me , my mind has gone blank , is Batmans Black Tumbler in the movie , i am trying to remember , but all i can see is BANES Camo Tumblers !

We have not seen it yet. There were only 4 manufactured ( 3 camo we have seen in shots from TDKR and the deceased from Dark Knight - I am wondering if we will get a possible re-design.

    It's possible Batman reposseses one from Bane and repaints it and uses it against him. That is a cool picture because we can see the Batpod behind it under the tarp.

    Thanks! Forgot about that. I guess we have no proof it was from The Dark Knight Rises though. It could have been an old picture from TDK. Especially since we never saw it again in Pittsburgh...

it would be a nice to see the tumbler in black again its the batmobile of our generation. then again its been in the previous 2 movies so we cant complain, the batpod is cool enough n if we cast our minds back nolan wanted rid of it even in the first one but didnt so thats why he made sure it woz destroyed in TDK

Christian Bale said about filming Batman Begins in Chicago that when they were filming late at night it was like a covert operation kinda way. This to keep the project as secret as possible. Seeing the Batwing video (as well as the chase video) it's almost like Nolan just invites people to take a look.

People are thinking catwoman uses the batpod cause she steals it from Batman. What if Batman let's her step in and use the batpod cause bane seriously injured ( broke his back) Batman in their fight... just something to think about.

Am I the only one who realizes that the first video (and a few others like it) is the shooting of the opening scene, where Batman is being "hunted"? The opening scene is going to take place directly after the ending of The Dark Knight.

I KNOW I'm not the only one who knows this, yet I have yet to see it acknowledged on any website.

And add the torn cape (seen in HQ above) - This could easily be the begining ..... But the alley with the batwing is throwing me off. Interesting...

  doesn't have to be the same scene..just the same location ;)
  When they shoot the batwing from an angle which goes up to the thing, they can easily add some snow with CGI on the spots, which are not "clear" ...hope you get what i mean :D

Remember, they're still going to NYC to finish filming. Maybe they'll unveil a new Batmobile in the big apple. Or maybe they'll bring back the Tumbler. OR maybe we just won't get a batmobile for TDKR. Either way, I'm pumped for this movie and it's almost a tease not reading any of the spoilers. After the batwing was revealed, I vowed not to read any spoilers

People need to quit blaming Nolan for all these videos. Seriously, how is he supposed to keep people from filming when it's out in the open and not inside a studio? With the previous movies, it was easier. There was less anticipation and not everyone and his uncle had a video camera on their phone. So if you wanna blame someone for these leaks, blame the late Steve Jobs.

Oh, and how long until people forget about the 60s TV show? Almost half a century's gone by and we still have to endure that awful theme song.

It could be from the Dark Knight due to the fact that when Bruce was last seen by people he had rammed his car and said if he needed to go to the hospital. So it could be an aversion from that.

oooooooooookay about the talking with the "rotor"
Here is what i assume will happen, wenn Lucius Fox shows the baby to Bruce:

Under these grilles (?) (attached picture), which are for protection against bullets or stuff, are two rotors just like the prototype of the X-35 fighterjet had (other picture). These can be altered by changing the axis which changes uplift and of course the opposite. Hope you can follow ;)

The two big buddies on the front with the canons mounted are therefore used to give him speed and bringing the whole thing forward while in air.

Using THIS thought, it would reduce the need of CGI in the scenes to almost none-existent, 'cause it would only be seen in quick flashes under the grille und the CGI-guys would accomplish it with adding just a little blurrinnes and no one would whine about it...or even care ;)

So what do you think?

Fuck, dude! I think you nailed it straight bullseye!!! My only two concerns about the batwing of being a chopper was 1- the size of the "rotors", you know? With a big CGI'd rotor, the thing simply wouldn't fit between the buildings! And 2- i was thinking about the rotor being an easy target for enemies fire!! So you solved the both issues!!! That's AWESOME! You naughty little german bastard!!! LOL!! Outstanding, man!

It is definitely plausible , in fact this is how I thought it would pan out.- We have only seen footage of the batwing in low area ( in between buildings ) , so I am wondering if it has a wing spread when in high altitude... and retracts when needed.

Let's fit the pieces together... Give it a good and simple try. The thing with Nolan's movies is that they are logical not complicated but do have unexpected twists and turns. So it makes it somehow even harder hard to predict which way the plot is going right from the beginning.

One of the main things to remember is that with Nolan's movies the story starts before the movies does so that give you something to work with when trying to guess some of the plot.

So that's what I'm doing here... Best guessing.. make it as logical as possible.
<ending tdk=""> Injured Batman beeing chased by Gotham PD
<start tdkr=""> Injured Batman still beeing chased by Gotham PD but escapes somehow with Batwing. With the batwing Batman discovers the batcave. Somewhere right after that Bruce Wayne gives up his Batman role. This i guess because the whole of Gotham (including citizens not only Gotham PD) calls for his arrest. This explains why Gordon smashes the batsignal eventually. Coz batman just doesnt show up anymore. This explains also Bruce Wayne arriving injured with a cane somewhere. That injury will cause people to speculate. From there the story will build swift but quickly which means Gordon has to fight crime alone. Most important he also has to fight the uprising of Bane and his criminals alone. But Gordon eventually gets caught by Bane and Bane will do some serious harm to Gordon that's why Gordon will be in the hospital asking Bruce Wayne if Batman can return because Gordon failed in stopping the uprise of Bane and it's criminals. Meanwhile Gotham gets in more chaos with the day. This explains why Bane is on the Football Field of the Gotham Rogues. He wants to make a statement that there's a new and very dangerous villian in town. My best guess is that this football field scene will take place before gordon's one in the hospital. Eventually the chaos gets that big in Gotham that Batman will return (with the batwing) and he will get help from Catwoman and John Blake because in the absence of Batman they already started to fight crime without him.Now i can go on forever; but more important when I write this and think about it; I really get the feeling that in TDKR Bruce Wayne will get to face some very very very VERY serious problems in his own life. My gut tells me that a massive wave of problems (almost like chaotic) so to speak will head towards Bruce Wayne. It's a similar feeling when I watched TDK for the very first time and saw Rachel dying and Harvey Dent get blown away.I was actually shocked after i saw those scenes and felt kinda sad.
Now the thing is with TDKR is that Christopher Nolan will try and make you feel the same way about Bruce Wayne. Coz if I'm correct it was Nolan who said in an interview that it will be Bruce Wayne's story. To guess about the ending. Bruce Wayne will almost die and Nolan leaves it up to the imagination if he actually does or doesn't. Expect the unexpected at the ending of TDKR. This guess based upon previous Nolan movies though.
