'The Dark Knight Rises' set photos reveal Tom Hardy as Bane [Update]

A major The Dark Knight Rises scene is being filmed today in Pittsburgh, and we have our first good look at Tom Hardy as Bane. He's wearing his mask and a military vest with cargo pants, as well as a leather trench coat. There are more pictures and even a video coming soon. Wow...just made my day. It looks like this Bane isn't gonna be a monster like in the comics but just a muscular dude. In one of the pics there is an army guy (an extra maybe) who looks to have similar muscularity as Hardy.

Now I'm super curious as to how this is gonna play out....I am pretty surprised at how realistic he looks. Maybe he won't break batman's back after all...or at least if he does it won't be anything like the iconic picture with batman over his knee...

  I beg to differ. There's a clear distinction between wanting to know more about TDKR, and wanting spoilers. I primarily use this site for official news, such as teasers,trailers,photos and interviews. And I also consider this a major spoiler and think it's a shame that it hasn't been presented as such.

Okay Tom Hardy as Bane kind of looks like Reptile from Mortal Kombat (I'm thinking of the actual film not necessarily the video game itself), primarily/really because of the mask, but all the same, I'm still willing to wait and see just exactly where Nolan's going with these characters (Bane in particular, never-mind Bruce Wayne/Batman and of course Catwoman and hell, maybe even Commissioner Gordon and Alfred). P :)

I've had this theory about Bane for a while now, in that he'll be the anti-Joker in a way. The way I see it is that Bane will be driven by a need for total despotic power, whereas the Joker wanted anarchy. Perhaps this tearing up of a picture of Harvey is linked to that, in a way that announces that "I AM THE LAW" whereas Joker wanted no law. Just throwing ideas around...
