I honestly don't even care who he plays. It's just amazing that he now has an official role, even if we don't yet know what it is. And the fact that he could be a villain...JGL is gonna be an amazing addition to the already stellar cast of TDKR.

  6. NIGHT Avatar

Christopher Nolan has 2 villains set up already. He's not gonna put more. It's gonna be Bane (Tom Hardy) & Catwoman (Anne Hathaway).

    1. SuperherooftheMonth Avatar

Except that Catwoman may not really be a "villain". She may be an antagonist, but I doubt she'll be a full-on villain, or even villainous in the way she was in "Returns." I think we'll see her play both sides, and in the end she'll end up slightly more in line with Batman.

"Street smart Gotham girl"? Are you fucking serious?

I have lost a little faith in this film now. A street-smart kid is the last thing I wanted to see in this movie. I can just imagine her making plenty of hi-larious quips and wisecracks. Oh joy....

    1. SuperherooftheMonth Avatar
      SuperherooftheMonth

You've lost faith in a film that has had two ASTOUNDING installments before it, and that you've not seen one second of footage from?

Juno Temple is 21 years old. Based on her looks, I'd say she could play between 16-24. That's an eight year range. To just assume that she's going to be a kid, making "plenty of hi-larious quips and wisecracks" at that, undercuts Nolan and his body of work.

But hey, if you're out, have fun then. The rest of us will enjoy this for the epic it's going to be.

They cant be Joker and Harley cause Nolan's JOKER died with Heath Ledger. Tho she does look that part for Harley. But then again maybe if they do like old video footage or surveillance tapes of a dark room in Arkham as him as joker maybe. But I still don't see it. I can not imagine anything he can play other then Jack Ryder. physically he fits the part! But then again, i agree Nolan will surprise us. I also would like to say idk how i feel about this Other girl, Juno Temple. I don't see how her role will fit anything or a story line. but we will see!

Am I the only one who thinks Juno could be up for Holly Robinson? Her hair reminds me of how she looked in Year One.

But would love a Harley Quinn, not gonna happen though.

    1. Natraylock Avatar
      Natraylock

I totally agree it will be the Holly character. Kyle will be a dominatrix! Cool. I wish people would stop going on about Harley Quinn. She was not created for the comic books she's from the cartoons) and Nolan always sources the comics for characters.

I was thinking Catwoman was going to be a socialite type , like in Long Haloween , but this new info"street smart Gotham girl " could indicate a more Batman Year One aproach , Hooker ! As for JGL being officialy cast , Great news !

Joseph Gordon-Levitt should NOT be in ANY super hero movie. He doesn't look the part at all and FAILED HARD CORE in G.I.Joe! Juno, if she gets signed on, could play any number of characters, I've never seen any previous work to really know how her personality, voice and acting skills will effect her role but I agree she could play anything between 16 and 24. No matter what this film will be EPIC because Christian Bale is an amazing Batman, he's settle and athletic. Plus the Batflyer is going to be in this one!!!

    1. Thejokersmiles13 Avatar
      Thejokersmiles13

Everyone failed hardcore in G.I. Joe, heck half the original cast including JGL aren't coming back for the unwarranted sequel, I'm sure he looks at that choice as a movie choice that obviously didn't pan out like he hoped but hey he now gets a real shot at a superhero movie except this time he will be better and Bale is absolutely amazing as Batman and will knock it out of the park.

I guess Alberto for JGL. Perhaps Janice Porter of Vickie Vale for Temple? I have no idea. If she'll be cast and Cotillard is as well, then we have al lot of female roles in this one!
    Not that I'm against that..........
But yeah, JGL as Alberto and Cotillard as Sofia. With Wilkinson to return. I'd prefer to see this connection to BB rather than Talia al Ghul/LOS, I don't like that.

    1. James Avatar
      James

There really haven't been many female roles in the last couple films, other than that of Rachel Dawes. So it'll be good to see some fresh faces taking on a few more female leads.

Joker and Harley is not going to happen!!! Nolan will not try to copy Ledgers Joker. It would be wrong, becouse Ledger did an iconic (yes iconic) portrayal of the caracter and any attempt to copy it, would not match It. It also would be wrong (in my opinion) becouse of Ldgers death! For the Riddler. If I remember correctly, Nolan sad that there will be no Riddler. I think Nolan is right, not to include the Riddler in the movie, becouse he is to similar to the Joker. A genius psychopath. That´s what they are, or aren´t they?? Black mask?? Can´t see it either! He would fit in as Gothams crime boss, but that part is reserved for Bane, at least I think so. Black mask wouldn´t fit in as any kind of henchman for Bane. He could be Bane´s partner, but in the end only one of them can be the crime boss of Gotham, so one must die and that is a waste of a caracter for new batman film´s to come. I think, JGL could be DEADSHOT. Deadshot is connected with the league of shadows and could be Bane´s helper in tireing out the Bat before Bane strike´s himself. Or he could be Alberto Falcone! Something similar to what his father(Carmine) was in batman begins. A crime boss placed there(controled) by the league to drive the city in to madness and caos before they role in, and destroy Gotham. I hope Nolan will not go in the direction of Robin/Dick Grayson/Nightwing!!! I just hope Nolan will make the Bat suffer. Throw everything at him. Gotham´s citizen are against him, the police is against him, Gotham´s underworld(Alberto Falcone) is against him, the league of shadows(Thaila Al Gul, Bane) is against him, Nolan must find a way that even Lucius Fox will be agains Bruce Wayne. Well not realy against him, some trouble in Wayne Enterprises(could Catwomen be responsible for that??) would be nice to knock the Bat even further down. BATMAN must be really, compleatly crushed before he can RISE :))....that´s just my opinion and my wishes for JGL role and whole movie!

I agree that this "street-smart" girl sounds like the character from Year One who is always seen with Selina Kyle. Seeing Selina Kyle become Catwoman to protect her from the mob or maybe because of her death would make for an interesting foil to Bruce/Batman.

As for JGL, I would have have to say that usual suspects of Strange, Black Mask, & Alberto Falcone make the most sense. I could also see him being the new leader of the League of Shadows if they are in fact in this movie. I also think that Mad Hatter could be reworked to be a very interesting mafia boss in Nolan's Batman world... and that JGL would be ideal for that role.

This is fantastic news, unless they're setting him up to be Robin which I think is incredibly unlikely. Now all they need is Marion Cotillard as Talia Al Ghul. As for Juno Temple, don't know much about her. I think it's safe to say she won't be Harley Quinn or a female Robin. My only fear with having such a great cast is that some of the actors will have very small roles.

Alberto Falcone and Janice Porter. Well, let's see:

1- The Riddler WON'T BE in the movie
2- The Joker WON'T BE in the movie
3- Deadshot was caught in GOTHAM KNIGHT, wich was a prelude for TDK
4- Blackmask? I doubt... thats too many masked villains already

You people have no sense at all... fanboy brains are unbelievable!

Juno Temple would be yet another British actress. I always get a kick out of the fact that a movie about an American icon is directed by a Brit and dominated by non-American actors. I won't get into the debate over which country produces the best actors. Suffice it to say America churns out some really awful actors who somehow receive acclaim. What's also funny about Juno Temple which I'm sure people have already pointed out is that she looks like the character of Juno.

Always knew that after seeing Inception that either Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Tom Hardy would have a role (I had JGL as the frontrunner and Tom Hardy 2nd, Leo a distance distance 3rd) in the The Dark Knight Rises. Who would of known that both will have pivotal parts and with Marion Cotillard still yet to be confirmed.:-) So excited for JGL to land a role in The Dark Knight Rises, he really deserves it. What an ensemble cast this is shaping up to be, I believe in The Dark Knight Rises, it will top The Dark Knight, I have faith in everyone involved top to bottom.

No clue who JGL will play but I really think that Juno Temple will play Holly Robinson. Harley is totally out of the question. As is Vicki Vale or any love interest to BW. All of Bruce's love interests are socialites not "street-wise" Gotham Girls. And if you look at Holly through all the comics she's appeared in Juno has the perfect look.

  28. FanOfNolan Avatar

Besides DiCaprio, who's left from Inception that hasn't appeared in a Batman movie? Ellen Page who I guess is too big now to play a small role like Holly Robinson. Tom Berenger? Maybe Nolan will find a way to squeeze him in too. I think that's one reason so many actors love working with Nolan. They know that once you get cast in one of his movies, there's a good chance you'll be cast in another one too.
