'The Dark Knight Rises' score will be 'epic', big news on the way? [Update]

Hans Zimmer is a man of few words when it comes to talking about his current projects. Zimmer has worked with Christopher Nolan on both the Batman Begins and The Dark Knight scores and is currently hard at work on something for The Dark Knight Rises. MTV.com recently caught up with Zimmer and tried to get him to talk about his latest work. He didn't say much, but he did promise that his score for The Dark Knight Rises will be "epic". Extraordinarily epic. Here is an excerpt from his interview with MTV:

The one thing I can tell you is that it's going to be a lot more epic. Extraordinarily epic. I think there's something in the core of the story that allows you to get the music much bigger and much more sort of, iconic.

Not huge news but interesting none-the-less. However, we should be getting some big news very soon. Yesterday, TheWrap teased a big story but they still haven't posted it. Stay tuned to Batman-News.com -- I'll be sure to update as soon as that big news breaks.

Update: TheWrap's news was "hot" all right. Turns out they were just looking to get hits. They just released an article titled "Nolan Fever" that offers no new information about The Dark Knight Rises.

What could The Wrap's news be? Cotillard's role? JGL's? Hathaway in the catsuit?

From all the emphasis on "hot" you'd think it'd be Hathaway in the catsuit, just seems like it's way too early for that stuff to start being released. Perhaps they know Cotillard's role. Whatever it is, I hope it lives up to the hype! Perhaps the WB ninjas got to them...

    Definitely! With all this on location filming, I wonder if they'll want to get official pictures out there before May though?

      That would be sweet! They may want to get out something official before set pics get released, a la The Amazing Spider-Man. The thought of this, and the pending news, is making my head spin!

JGL is Black Mask!!! Marion Cotillard is Talia al Ghul!! o man o man it don't get much better than this Bane, Black Mask, Talia al Ghul & possibly Catwoman. if Talia is the love interest than we could very well see Catwoman or if Selina Kyle is the love interest they we probably won't if Talia is the baddie but to quote the joker again...And here we go:)

Would be SHOCKED if it was CAT WOMAN REVEAL ! BUT i think studios are starting to realise its important to get a decent shot of a character out on their terms instead of a crappy spy shot ! Good examples of this are THOR , SPIDERMAN REBOOT, Still think its way to early for official imagery ( LIVE IN HOPE) ps ZIMMER could score my nan knitting and it would be EPIC !

Much like how Sony is handling the Spiderman reboot, I hope WB pumps out official photos of our villains early. I remember the early random pics of Heath as Joker when DK was filming and it didn't do the movie, or look, justice. Just take it in your own hands and give fans a sneak peek early.

And I keep hearing rumors of Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Black Mask... I need answers!

A fake press release was sent to many websites today (Batman-News.com included). Some websites decided to post it...it said that JGL was Black Mask. However the press release was clearly fake and it was sent by a HOTMAIL.com email address. That's why you've been hearing those rumors. If it's not on Batman-News.com, it's nothing to worry about ;)
