Man, that’s a great cover.  Just take a minute and appreciate it.  It’s our first look at Earth 2’s Doctor Fate, and he looks fantastic.  From the powerful and bright beams of light, to the Egyptian hieroglyphics and imagery in the background, to Fate himself, this cover alone sold me on buying this book.  This…

The Atom, the Sandmen, and members of the World’s Army have figured out the Jay Garrick is Flash thanks to a cell phone he dropped at Mercury’s crash site, which could lead to some interesting developments going forward.  Now, however, Jay and Khalid Ben-Hassin (Doctor Fate) face a more immediate threat. “The Tower of Fate”…

We were treated to the return of Steppenwolf and Fury last time we visited Earth 2, but this issue is all about the Wonders and their lives following the battle against Grundy.  Going back two issues, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl were not on the best of terms after Kendra speared a picture of Alan and…

Following the defeat of Grundy at the hands of the New Wonders, the previous issue of Earth 2 dealt with the events following the birth of the world’s newest heroes.  Alan Scott is mourning the loss of his boyfriend, Sam, who died in a fiery explosion that consumed the train the two were travelling in. …

Last time in Earth 2, the combined strength of the New Wonders: Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Flash, and The Atom was enough to overcome the life-decaying powers of Grundy and The Grey.  Many questions were raised by the time Grundy was sent Wheatley-style to the Moon.  A World Army has appeared on the scene, and it’s…

Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkgirl, and The Atom were battling the life-sapping powers of Grundy and The Grey last time we saw our Wonders, and the fight rages on in “End Times.”  After saving The Atom from the clutches of Grundy, all the Wonders but Lantern take the battle to Grundy while Alan Scott delves into…

The Wonders of Earth 2 are facing off with their first true test as heroes, with the destructive force of Grundy sapping Washington, DC of all life.  Our heroes converged in the shadows of the ruined Capital Building, with Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl joining forces to combat the encroaching pestilence brought about by The…

Another issue, another set of heroes introduced.  This seems to be a theme of Earth 2 and I’m certainly not complaining.  The only problem I can see coming from this would be an inability to give the proper time each hero needs in order to grow and develop.  It would also be a shame if…

Last issue we saw the birth of Earth 2’s Flash when Jay Garrick was imbued with the power of super-speed.  Alan Scott and his boyfriend Sam were also caught in a massive explosion aboard a Hong Kong bullet train.  Oh, and we met Hawkgirl!  So a lot has happened.  In “Jade Knight” we slow down…

With the deaths of The Trinity of Wonders in the Apokolips War, the Earth has gone five years without heroes.  Since then, the world has been slowly recovering, using the memories of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman as inspirations to form a peaceful planet.  It is with this in mind that we enter into a…

Few things have so bluntly and unrelentingly punched me in the face like the first issue of Earth 2.  “The Price of Victory” offers us a story we have seen numerous times before: the Parademons of Apokolips are invading a war-torn Earth, and it is up to a valiant group of the universe’s greatest heroes to…

After seeing this cover in the ads of nearly every comic book I read for the past 3 or 4 months I was eager to open this issue and just get the big reveal over with. Who is the new Batman? WHO? Would it be Jean Paul Valley? Dick Grayson? Terry McGinnis? Someone else entirely?…
