6 on DC K.O. #1 ReviewSomehow… Darkseid has returned. It's all been leading to this. Ever since the "All In" era in DC began with the All In Special one-shot that dropped a year ago, many of the mainline titles like Joshua Williamson's Superman run and Justice League Unlimited have been building up to this bombastic event. Now it's time.…
Get your brackets ready DC fans! The first major crossover event in the "All-In" era launches next month, and writer Scott Snyder and artist Javi Fernández are the team behind it. Here's the official synopsis: The Heart of Apokolips has transformed Earth into a hellscape in preparation for the return of Darkseid! The end of…
DCeased finally reaches the end of its five year long tragedy. As death comes to the worlds of the multiverse, only the brave heroes of Earth-2 stand on the front lines. Granted, will be there any kind of life to salvage if the heroes manage to prevail? The Final Battle Originally, Darkseid's pursuit of the…
The penultimate chapter of DCeased: War of the Undead Gods has begun! Every story thread spun from the beginning finally leads into a big conflict. As Darkseid and the forces of Anti-living reach Earth-2, the good guys make their desperate last stand. After Alfred Pennyworth made the choice to kill the final members of his…
The colorfully explosive final chapter of DC: Mech brings the story to a close. With all five mechs upgraded, the Justice Squadron heads out to destroy Darkseid and the Anti-Life Engine once and for all! Or at least just indulge in some giant robot battles. What did you expect? Much of the actual plot comes…
In the newest issue of Undead Gods, two cosmic forces get into an unexpected stare down while the true evil grows stronger. No matter what happens, each action seems to bring readers closer and closer to an inevitably morbid conclusion. In my last review, I openly questioned the point of this series. I can only…
At the midway point of the story, the heroes have become unsure how to address the upcoming threat. As the Unliving Darkseid tears through the universe collecting stronger assets, the survivors sadly find it difficult to unite. I've been trying to figure out the hook of DCeased. Beyond the gratuity of bloodshed and morbid violence,…
Sorry, I will be your substitute reviewer until Nic returns! DC Comics expects readers to regard Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths as a significant story. It certainly has all the trappings of a major crisis event. Its pages tout large scale battles with heroes, villains, impossible machines, and other multiversal shenanigans. Even so, why does…
Amid the chaos happening in the wider universe, it is always nice when the story can settle down. DC: Mech #4 does it's best to bring the narrative closer to home before things get far worse. At this point in the monomyth, the characters go through a period of self reflection. After Kal-El crashes into…
This chapter of Tom Taylor's Undead Gods eases off the pedal and focuses on how Anti-life is developing in the wider universe. As the threat continues to grow in the background, heroes, villains, and gods prepare to face the dark forces or perish! Most of the narrative weight rests on the shoulders of three characters.…
Welp. It's here. The last issue of Jurassic League. That can't be right, right? If it's the last issue, that means there's no more, and if there's no more... No. No, I won't let that happen. The cool dinosaur comic cannot end. How am I supposed to go on with no Jurassic League left to review?…
War Of The Undead Gods continues with an unbelievable sophomore issue. Just as the world’s heroes have begun attempting to rebuild their world, a new foe has emerged to threaten their universe at large. While not as tragic or violent as expected, Undead Gods once again instills the fear of Darkseid to the DCUniverse. I…
Ah, screw it. Spoilers, I suppose. I was going to write a long-winded analogy about something fun I could compare this book to, but it's not worth my time. This book isn't fun - why should I pretend, even for a moment, that I'm having fun discussing it? Let's get into one of the worst…
Hey guys! Nick here. Yes, I know this is Cam's account, he's right next to me. See, Cam and I are working together on today's review. You might be surprised to see a review for these books go up - you'd think after all this time we just would have skipped them. However, we have…
It’s the year 2019. With the rise of the internet and the publicity that it allows, it’s easier than ever for us to fight – and easier than ever to be manipulated. In a world where the public doesn’t trust journalists, journalists don’t trust their employers, and the rich control the technology we use every…
Based on the art of Greg Capullo Sculpted by Djordje Djokovic Rocking into our world from the pages of DARK NIGHTS: METAL is DC’s most powerful villain. Except this time he’s a little different. Emphasis on little. In the twisting, nightmare-and-rock-and-roll-infused plot of METAL, Scott Snyder has the Dark Knight capture the newborn Darkseid to…
Video courtesy of my site Comics Now. Used with permission. After looking curiously at Mezco's One:12 Collective for the past several years, I finally took the plunge last fall and preordered one. Then I preordered another. Then I bought a monkey. And now... Darkseid is We saw Darkseid at Toy Fair, and I've been intrigued since he…
The March issue of Empire doesn't go on sale until Thursday, but it's already been delivered to subscribers of the magazine. Comic Book Movie shared some really cool shots of Batman from inside the magazine, but the biggest reveal is a tease of another big villain. Batman can be seen in his "nightmare" scene, standing…
The Superman/Batman series has been relaunched for the New 52, but with Batman's name first and an opening storyline that explores the DC Multiverse. "Cross World" rewinds the clock to an adversarial Batman and Superman who meet for the first time on an adventure into another dimension where they encounter different incarnations of themselves who represent…
A Justice League movie is definitely under development, and it'll be out in the summer of 2015 if all goes according to Warner Bros. plans. So which villain will Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of DC's heroes be up against? Latino Review is reporting that Darkseid will be the villain in Justice League. If…
