In honor of Batman day, DC Comics and SEGA of America released a special teaser animation on Saturday showing off Shadow the Hedgehog as none other than the Dark Knight himself. More than that, however, DC referred to it as a preview of things to come leading to speculation as to what that might mean for fans of both series. Now we know the big news that they were referring to: The Justice League will be joining up with Team Sonic in their very own crossover comic next year.

Launching in March 2025 and written by Ian Flynn of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book, this five-issue series will see the two teams work together to defeat an evil threatening both of their worlds. All of this was revealed during SEGA's annual Sonic Central livestream event, including a first look at the Sonic heroes as their Justice League counterparts. These were Shadow the Hedgehog as Batman, Knuckles as Superman, Amy Rose as Wonder Woman, Silver the Hedgehog as Green Lantern, Tails as Cyborg, and Sonic as The Flash.

Warner Bros. Discovery and SEGA will soon be announcing further collaborations, including toys, apparel, collectibles, and more. These new products are expected to launch in late 2025.
