Last Christmas, Batman and Santa Claus teamed up to defeat Krampus in Batman – Santa Claus: Silent Knight. It was a holiday special miniseries unlike any you'd likely seen before. Filled with Norse mythology, wild action, and hordes of demons, it was about as crazy as one could expect from the Yuletide season. Fans wanted more, and DC is happy to oblige in the form of Batman – Santa Claus: Silent Knight Returns.
In the five issues of Batman – Santa Claus: Silent Knight Returns, horrors haunt the Christmas season as life-drained bodies litter the countryside, each marked with a strange symbol. The Justice League responds—but it’s a trap! The heroes are pulled from our world, but not before Batman helps Robin escape. Now Damian Wayne must seek out Zatanna and the one and only Santa Claus if there’s any hope of saving their friends and family.
Writer Jeff Parker returns for this five issue miniseries, this time joined by artist Lukas Ketner (Count Crowley). Ketner's background in cartoonish horror made him an appealing fit for the tone of the series. This was made clear to Parker by his audition sketches, which included DC monster staples such as Etrigan the Demon, but also keeping a level of whimsy that allows for something like Bat-ice skates.

“Once Lukas started on SILENT KNIGHT RETURNS our inboxes were blowing apart with visuals better than anyone imagined,” continued Parker. “The Bat Office started us good and early so we've had that rare planning time to really build out the story and craft an ominous and creepy villain. Cool monsters, exotic locales—you'll love the smart details Lukas works in, it will reward multiple readings.”
Batman – Santa Claus: Silent Knight Returns will release weekly between November 27 and December 25.
