Warner Bros. Has pushed the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom release date back by two days to Dec. 22.

Warner Bros. is going into the weekend moving around its upcoming release schedule ever so slightly. The studio has three big films planned for the 2023 holiday window with Wonka being the first to hit theaters on Dec. 15. The next was supposed to be Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on Dec. 20, but that date has now been pushed back to Dec. 22. And then things wrap up with the new adaptation of The Color Purple on Dec. 25.

According to Variety, it looks as though the move was made to put a few more days of separation between Wonka and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The original plan of a five-day separation did always seem a bit odd.

Additionally, this will also allow the DC sequel to concentrate its opening numbers into the more traditional three-day box office report as opposed to the five-day window it originally had.

Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hit theaters on Dec. 22.
