JL: Couple more seconds of unseen footage featuring the world's finest together, thanks to a VFX reel from r/DC_Cinematic

Zack Snyder's Justice League footage wasn't the only thing cut from the theatrical release. Joss Whedon had some of his footage cut as well.

Justice League visual effects artist Ariel Suero shared a quick reel of the work he did on the movie. In the clip above, you can see new footage of Superman talking to Batman. Suero worked on removing Henry Cavill's mustache, as well as CGI for Cyborg and the parademons.

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara reportedly mandated that Justice League be no longer than 2 hours, so a lot of the stuff that was shot was left on the cutting room floor. Two deleted Superman scenes were included on the Blu-ray, but there's likely a lot more where that came from.

        Just add the cool swirl of Kryptonian text to the middle of the S of the MoS suit, and maybe the extra line at the top of the boots - both from BvS - and it would be the best

            Well if we wanna get really into the nitty gritty detail, the pattern and detailing on the blue part of the suit is slightly improved in BvS, too, though I prefer MoS’ colors :P Aaaaand I would love if they would extend the cuffs a bit into points over the backs of his hands, sort of like the New 52 design a bit, just for some added uniqueness :)
            THEN, it would truly be a *perfect* Superman suit

    After all the reports that have come out about Kevin Tsujihara, I'm amazed he still has his job. He's the one reason there is still a bit of pessimism in me about the DCEU. I want to believe they're turning things around, but as long as Tsujihara is in charge... I just don't know.

      Amazed he still has a job? WB had their best year ever last year (over $5 billion at the box office). They make way more than just DC movies. And Tsujihara was in charge of Wonder Woman too.

        Did they sell more movie tickets than they ever have? It's easy to make more money when ticket prices keep going up. As a CBM fan, I'm not really concerned about their other movies. I want good comic book movies from WB. I enjoyed MOS. I was disappointed in the theatrical cut of BvS (the directors cut is WAY better). Wonder Woman was great. JL was good, but not great. It should've been amazing. With the DCEU having all their CB characters, they should be meeting and exceeding the bar raised by the MCU. As of right now, they haven't come close. A lot of that blame has to rest on Kevin Tsujihara, as I'm sure you've read the reports on his meddling by now.

          You missed his point; I get that your only concerned with the DCEU. But Kevin's performance is really only evaluated by how WB performs under his watch. The DCEU failing is just a speck on their radar when the rest of WB makes up the bulk of their performance and WB overall has their best year under his leadership.

          Ergo, it's not warranted to be "amazed that he still has a job". There's absolutely no reason to even think he would lose his job over destroying the DCEU, as much as I hate saying it.

            I get the point you're both making, and it's a good one. I just wonder if it was their best year as far as tickets sold go. Ticket prices keep going up, so it's easy to make more money than the previous year. If they're consistently selling more and more tickets, then yes, I'm completely wrong and him keeping his job is justified. I hope I am wrong, and I hope he stops meddling with the DCEU.

            SS Extended Cut is tolerable. Not sure if I like it better than JL, though. I mainly dislike JL just from Superman resurrection onward, and overall out of principle for not getting all the cut stuff. But that’s a pretty solid list.

            It is a tiny bit better for me because of the first part of the movie about Krypton. To me, that was the only enjoyable part of the movie that was done well. I wanted to see more about that world, than the trash that came after. But MoS, BvS and SS are lying in the gutter of my list.

            Oof, I don't see how you can rank JL that low. For me, it's: 1) WW, 2) BvS, 3) JL, 4) MoS, and 5) SS. Suicide Squad was good when I first saw it, but after repeat viewings, it's just gotten worse, especially with Enchantress as the villain.

            Let me put it this way: Bay's Transformers films have made lots of money. 3 of them made nearly or over a billion dollars. Is that a testament to Bay's direction and leadership? Or does it prove the franchise is the draw?
            If the TF films were 90% RT films, do you think they would've made more or less money than they have now? The answer is obviously more. In fact, a good transformers film may have made a lot more.
            So ultimately, can we really say that Bay is "the" reason why TF films have grossed so much? No.
            Similarly, just because WB have made a lot of money this year, doesn't prove at all that Kevin is a good CEO. Far from it. Because under the right leadership and with the properties that WB owns... They could have EASILY doubled their profits.
            Kevin has greenlit loads of critical and commercial bombs. He's the reason why the DC division is a mess. He puts his bonuses first, and the business second.
            The only reason why WB make as much money as they do, is because of the properties they own. Not because Kevin is good at his job.
            It's as they said, any fool can make a Batman film, and it'll make money regardless. But it took a Chris Nolan for a Batman film to get legendary levels of success.
            Kevin is a Michael Bay figure in this analogy. He's not Chris Nolan. They should get rid of Kevin. He's utterly incompetent at his job.

        He's also the one who mandated BVS get made, and justice league be rushed into production. When Snyder wanted to make a standalone Superman movie to follow up on MOS. Even if the movie he wanted to make had been bad, at least it would have been a better option for the DC brand than the mess BVS was, and the hack job Justice League turned out to be. This is the guy who decided letting the brand suffer long term by postponing a movie that was beginning production was better than losing his christmas bonus.

        WB just isn't the best place for these characters to be. The way their entire studio is set-up and way their movies are made is antithetical to creating a universally beloved, cohesive, cinematic universe.

      I know they do. As a CBM fan, I'm more interested in how they're doing with the DCEU. That's why I come to this site. To see what's going on with the movies I care most about. If WB fired the person responsible for the DCEU not doing as well as it should be, that's great. I hope that's the fix.

            If you watch MoS carefully, Superman causes almost no damage at all in the Metropolis fight. He breaks some steel beams in a construction sight and some windows along one side of a skyscraper and that’s it. The rest is collateral from Zod’s attacks or the World Engine.
            Bruce was angry because Superman “brought [his] war to us,” and whether or not he is directly responsible for lives lost in his battles, he is indirectly responsible for them because of his existing on Earth’s being the reason they happen here. Also the potential he has to cause harm should he turn rogue or lose control or whatever is far beyond any other person on the planet. And also, from Bruce’s perspective during the Metropolis Battle, it’s hard to see who is exactly causing what. And then what really seals the deal on his view of Superman is his being framed for the Africa shootout and the explosion of the Senate. Even if he is not guilty (though the world starts to think he is), these events do prove that wherever he goes, more damage is bound to happen than good. He is like a walking bomb in Bruce’s eyes.

            Maybe he didnt do much damage, but he was responsible for it either way, he couldve prevented alot of the damage, for example, when zod pushed the truck filled with gasoline or whatever, instead of stopping it, he just hovered over it, which caused a big explosion and tge building collapsed. Anyways, i really liked mos so i dont really care.

    That batsuit and cowl look so much better than the grey chubby rubber suit. If they improved the fake plastic-looking pieces, I think most people would have enjoyed BvS and JL a bit more if they used this suit instead.

      That batsuit is used in JL lol. And I don't think the look of the suits would've had much bearing on how certain people responded to the films as a whole. In fact, a lot of fans agree that they really like how Wilkinson's batsuits are pretty faithful representations of what's seen in the comics.

        I meant they should have used it throughout both films. The first half of JL was still using the old suit. But you're right, it wouldn't have made much difference, but still it would have been a bit more bearable to watch. It made Affleck look much better structured and proportioned, akin to the Batman in the Arkham game series.

        Umm... Yeah, I would. I've worked with CG in the past and when you do that, you tend to catch on to the process. Even still, I would have noticed it without visual fx experience. Even some of my friends who had no idea about the whole mustache fiasco asked me in the theater "What's wrong with his face?"

          You're full of shit if you could tell from THIS scene that Cavill had his moustache removed via cgi, if you didn't know beforehand, "experience" or not. I'm not talking about the movie, because I will definitely admit it looked questionable at best many times throughout.

            Are you serious? What about the fact that the right side of his lip stretches downward inhumanly and the fact that his teeth seemingly float over his chin because of imperfect rotoscoping? I wouldn't need to be "told" there is CG at work there, experience or no experience in this case. This isn't even a "good" example of digitally erasing the mustache anyways.

            The scene in which Superman reiterates "Do you bleed" to Batman had more polished CG than this portion, and that's likely because this got CUT, so therefore it's even more unfinished than the other CG mustache sequences.

    I really don't know why, understanding the magnitude Zacks departure had on production and release, that WB did not at least have his storyboards in the dvd features?
    At this point I have no interest in an unfinished JL film but I really really want to know what his story was.

    I see DC rising from dead cause of directors like Patty Jenkins, James Wan, Matt Reeves, David F. Sandberg, (John Francis Daley, Jonathan M. Goldstein duo), (Todd Phillips, Martin Scorsese, Scott Silver making new joker movie) and due to new leader Walter Hamada.But. It will take a lot of time and effort.Hack Snyder sure as hell spared no effort in trying to kill DC.

      Also, Geoff really didn't get into the writing and overseeing fully until half of Snyder's reign. He and Patty mostly put together the WW script. I think he worked on Aquaman with Wan. He is a good comic writer. I am also not hearing anything about WB interfering with Wan or the Shazam director, so I am hoping, like you said, DC is rising from the dead. I agree, it will take a lot of time.

      Also, I bet we hear the announcement of MoS2 director and release date in the next couple of weeks, maybe this weekend at WonderCon.

          Even during the 90’s they pressured Burton into coming back for a Batman sequel and after that we saw how mismanagement by WB led to the Batman movies lessening in quality.

          Nolan even received pressure from WB to start Dark Knight Rises sooner than he would have liked. Perhaps thats part of why the story wasn’t as air tight as his first two films.

        LMAO! I love Michael Jackson for Ezra/Flash. I saw someone compare his flash to Sheldon Cooper which made me laugh.

        I also read a review that suggested Snyder could have homosexual tendencies because he is so enamored with the male physique, which fits into personal bodybuilding habits. He really idolizes those late 80's to 90's era strong physical archetypes from the comics when the artists really blew them up with bodybuilder proportions. It is why he demanded the strict gym regimine for all his male heros. I bet Cavill got lots of pats on the bum from Snyder. ;-)

I think most people like him because he offered them characters that have never been on the screen before, dressed in nice costumes.             Your "theory" would be wrong though because there are plenty who like his films specifically because they're comic book fans. I might have disliked his version of Superman if I wasn't a comic book fan, but I am... I am a huge Superman comic book fan with stacks of graphic novels, trade paperbacks, hardcover editions, etc. lying neatly on my shelves and that's why I appreciate Snyder's take.

            One of the many reasons I liked BvS specifically is because Snyder deliberately inverted TDKR by switching Superman and Batman's roles. Because any Superman fan knows Miller hates the character and dumped all over him by making him a government stooge who willingly became an errand boy killing soviets left and right, and agreeing to go after Batman specifically because he embarrassed the government. Instead, Superman is the one targeted by the government and the media because he isnt their personal lapdog and he struggles mediating his unilateral decisions, which plenty of Superman Origin stories depict.

            It's also worth noting that the DCEU is quite ironically a product of the times, modeled heavily off the New 52 comics, which are now notorious for misrepresenting the spirit of many of the core characters, not the least of whom is Superman, which marks a good percentage of why hes been killed and replaced in Rebirth. So in essence, Comic Book Writers actually understood the character of Superman less than Snyder.

            What about Wonder Woman in that she is the daughter of Zeus and a demigoddess? That backstory became apparent in the New 52 and the movie utilized it, while also giving a nod to the "sculpted from clay" portion of earlier comics.
            I'm not saying the New 52 was overall "garbage," but in essence, it retooled a lot of characters that frankly didn't NEED to be retooled. Superman is the prime example - in the New 52, he was hotheaded, angry, not the least bit "inspiring", and not even a true leader to the League. If anything, Snyder's version was far closer to the classic Superman by the notion that while his Superman was clearly molded from New 52 inspiration, they merely made up "traits" to his character whereas the more notable emulated elements came from much better stories like Byrne's Man of Steel or even Earth One.

            Hell, the entire premise of MOS was more akin to Earth One (Tyrell and Zod even share the coded message broadcast throughout the world as well as the plot-premise of an alien invasion being the inciting incident that forces Clark to reveal himself to the world).

            In any iteration, there are going to be changes made to the characters.             That isn't the case when someone like me who IS a gigantic comic book nerd (And proud of it) appreciates Snyder's take on the characters specifically because of that factor.

            Technically, the other instance was fleshed out as well because we are given clear indication that Bruce is acting irrationally and for the first time letting his emotions drive his actions rather than his intellect.

            This is where the "different strokes for different folks" kind of logic comes into play here.

            Whereas I can agree that Snyder is nowhere near Nolan's level when it comes to filmmaking, I disagree that he is a shallow storyteller. He has a certain style, but he is able to give characters their moments not so much through dialogue, but interior reflection and through visual storytelling. Some of the best scenes Snyder does is when characters don't even speak a word and their actions/reactions alongside the visuals drive the story. For instance, the part where Bruce stares at the batsuit in the cave; face literally trembling with anger and he stops a brief instant to look at the Robin costume. No words needed - we get exactly why Bruce is acting up.

            Or even earlier during the Metropolis flashback. That solemn look Bruce gives Superman as he crashes through buildings with Zod juxtaposed with the little girl he's holding in his arms who lost her mother due to the carnage. Again, no words - just a look and the visuals. They sell the emotion and we get Bruce's motivations instantly.

            Not trying to convince you. I get it - you hate it. There's nothing wrong with that. But I don't agree.

            That montage gave us everything we needed to know about Superman in regards to how he's being scrutinized by the media. There is nothing being contradicted here - Clark didn't sit on the sidelines. He was pro-active and frequently saved lives wherever he went, hence why he never stayed in one place at any given time. None of it was shallow.

            I've already seen what "ruins" a character portrayal of Superman. It's called SMALLVILLE. Now that's one where you can say Clark moped all doom and gloom where he didn't even want to save people and would have rather just slept with Lana all day.

            I never saw his Owls movie, but I think I have scene everything else. The only movie I liked of his was the zombie one, and even that was just a popcorn-fest light movie, with zombies and killing. The 300 movies are movie renditions of flipbook movies with very little/light dialogue. Those movies are in his wheelhouse, since he is a visual director and can't do character development worth shit. Sucker Punch...well I agree with the RT critic score, which I think is around 23%. His movies overall were bombs critically, some were just ok. He is not a great director like Nolan or Ridley Scott. He should have been a cinematographer and left the directing to the big boys.

It was a cave troll with a few spikes. It was the most talked about, and laughed about, thing, besides the bad plot, of that movie.

            I agree he didn't make it to the stage your comparison picture showed. He did only have a few spikes, even if it was a rapid process. The idea was that this was an early version of Doomsday (a clone, actually, if you recall what the Kryptonian ship computer said to Lex), and Zack had said that he planned to explore him more in JL, so I felt confident we'd be seeing a more fully evolved Doomsday with a lot more spikes and hair at some point later.

            Ever ambiguous, Snyder hinted at what he may or may not have in mind for Justice League’s
            “bigger enemy.” “Well, you have Doomsday, right? He doesn’t just crawl
            out of the ground. He has his own mythology, right? So that has to be
            explored…”

            Later, Ciaran Hinds (Steppenwolf's actor) also said that Darkseid and Steppenwolf had tangled with the original Doomsday some number of eons ago, so I was foaming at the mouth to hopefully see flashbacks of that battle with a fully-formed Doomsday (like your picture) in JL or JL Part 2, when that was still a thing. Would have demonstrated Steppenwolf and Darkseid as much more of a visceral threat!

            “The uncle of the universe’s greatest villain, Darkseid, and a member of
            his elite force, Steppenwolf survived a battle with Doomsday. That
            should tell you just how powerful he is. Aside from his strength and
            near-immortality, he’s also an expert tactician and wields a vicious
            electro-axe that can cut through just about anything.

            So, with that context, I was ultimately okay with this Doomsday clone not having the full spikes and hair yet. It was obvious he was evolving, there was no guarantee the clone was dead for good, and if Zack got to do what he wanted to, we would have had the real Doomsday later - maybe the original or the clone could have even appeared again in present time and gone after Superman.

            Oh well. :(

            Basically, I don't disagree that he's not full Doomsday, but I also think if you shaved Doomsday it's fair that he would basically look like a cave troll. lol

            To address your point; well that certainly makes sense, although not much of what you stated was explained or shown where it counts, in the film. What the audience saw, was a shaved cave troll with poor CGI. I understand some thought the CGI was ok, I didn't. He looked like a rubber man in a suit half the time.

            Again, another example of all these big ideas of Snyder's that never pan out, unless he gives one of his interviews explaining them. Many come away from the actual product scratching their heads....or saying things like, "WTF was that?"

            Prior to reading the interviews, I came away from the movie thinking, "We may see Doomsday again, so I shouldn't assume this was his last appearance."

            After all, it's a universe of connected films, and comic books often have recurring villains. This kept me from feeling bitter about the lack of spikes.

            It's understandable to take things at face value, but I determined to remain patient and judge the series of films in retrospect, once we had everything all play out, and give them a chance to show a more fully grown Doomsday later. This was also my thinking for Superman, Lex, and Batman having gradual character arcs.

            If that stuff didn't pan out, yeah, I was ready to be right there with you (and I sort of am now), but it turns out most of the things I wanted were apparently planned to pan out all along. So the interviews just confirmed my hopes, which made me happy - but, sadly, Snyder never got a chance to tell the whole story he wanted to with the way WB handled things.

            Ultimately, I'm with you in being frustrated at the DCEU's results, but I've arrived there from a different angle, yet still for similar reasons.

            Here's a question: Do you think if they showed a more evolved Doomsday later, whether it be the clone or the original, that you could forgive the BvS version as a sort of 'newborn' form?

            No. I could not forgive the cloned version or BvS. It was weak, Lex's blood with Kryptonian, all because Lex wanted a failsafe..weak writing.

            BvS was actually two movies, the later 1/3 being the Doomsday story. Snyder wanted it on there for a few reasons, to introduce WW, or at least see her in action, and another reason for big dramatic explosion scenes, which he LOVES, again he is a visual director.

            I always thought they should have removed the Doomsday 1/3, saving it for another movie when we could actually get the original story. Thus leaving room for more effort put into character development and flesh out the weak plot of why Batman would want to kill Superman. I could go on, it is a Snyder shit fest, but I will end with I am glad some enjoyed it.

            I don't hate the movie for any of those reasons, but I do think your idea sounds fine. I would've preferred it, even, if handled tactfully. You make a respectable point.

            For me, I embraced the thematic concept painted by doing Doomsday then and there with the kind of story they were trying to tell (whether we agree that that attempt was successful or not), and understood that the movie needed to lay groundwork for the JL.

            I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but I dig the idea that the JL's creation would be inspired by his death, and I like the fresh twist that Bruce is so impassioned by these events that he wants to make it up to the world in this way.

            All that aside, I totally get preferring it the way you would have done it. I also would have preferred the JL set-up to have been less rushed, but I reckon Snyder was probably painted into a bit of a corner there.

            While I enjoy BvS for what it was, and think your idea for an improvement is understandable and strong, maybe more important than our preferences is that what we got was ultimately the wrong choice for the wider audience.

            It was just too soon for the casuals and fans alike to fall in love with this Superman enough to feel anything by him sacrificing himself. I think the timing was terrible for most people, and they should have considered that more carefully. Few viewers cared because they weren't attached yet. There was too little to be attached to.

            Anyway, sorry again for snapping back. I imagine your reason for acting that way was probably similar to mine. All the bickering gets old, and you lose faith in people you disagree with to be mature. I misjudged you here.

            For the record, if I can speak for myself (a recurring theme :P), I can see everything.

            I just choose, as you said, not to engage certain individuals after trying repeatedly to have a proper chat and it always winds up being a sticky swamp of personal attacks, counter-points being ignored, and false arguments being put into my mouth (straw men).

            While I support comments I agree with (obviously lol), I also upvote people I disagree with if they make a strong point.

            This happened with the recent chat between you and I, it happens between me and Hunter Zolomon all the time, and I even disagree with Ninja sometimes and he is respectful and thoughtful despite disagreeing, so I upvote his counter-points to mine too.

            I think the fact that you and I were able to have a nice back-and-forth speaks for itself.

            It's not about being 'the enemy' by having a differing opinion; it's about behavior.

            I'm not perfect myself, but I am trying to stop butting heads with people fruitlessly and creating an even more acidic, angry environment. It just doesn't go anywhere; makes the community worse.

            I think I saw it three times also. The whole JL movie is so distorted. In the end, it is neither Snyder's film, nor what these Snyder ass-lickers on this site like to say, which is that it is Whedon's. It is really WB's film. They hired Whedon to carry out their direction of a happier, uplifting, more Marvel like film. It was all WB's vision, under their control. Whedon was doing his job, and as such, wasn't listed as director. Something these Snyder bots can't seem to grasp.

            The film itself is neither good or bad, it just is. In maybe 10 years, we will look back at it the way we looked back at Superman III with Richard Pryor, an embarrassment. I am rewatching the DK trilogy again for the 100th or more time, so yeah, that is says a lot when you have a good director.

            Oh, memes don’t count. For me, it was funny BECAUSE of the meta-self-awareness of it - Bruce saying a popular joke about himself WITHIN the actual world in a way that didn’t break the fourth wall. As for it being out of character, I don’t know about that. Bruce does make sarcastic/dry jokes from time to time, and that scene reminded me of the one between Green Lantern and him in the comics, when GL realizes Batman is just a regular guy dressed as a bat. Good stuff. I think it definitely deserved to be there.

      I'm not ready to blame the effects team. WB shouldn't have put them in such a cramped, rushed position. As far as I'm concerned, the CG is just blowback from a sloppy, reckless studio decision.

        Agreed. The FX team is most certainly not to blame. They were almost literally working under the crack of their masters' whips and had very little time at all to get anything done. It's a miracle the CG mustache even turned out as "good" as it did under the circumstances (there are certain instances where it didn't look too bad. The infamous "Do you bleed" part is actually probably one of the more polished of their shots in comparison to the cellphone footage or the Flash-Superman race scene or the creepy "Yes, ma'am" Joker smile).

        And I'd imagine they're pretty pissed about it too. It's a blight on their resumes to have shoddy CG work with their name on it under the guise of a $300 million dollar movie. Hell, the FX guy who leaked some details a while back even said that him and his buddies were upset because if they had even as much as an extra 2-3 months, the CG lip would have been "seamless."

            Wait, only a couple of years ago, Superman snapped Zod's neck and killed him. Now, in BvS, he is put in an impossible situation with a clock that is running down. Bruce is not listening and starts fighting, and he is got very little time. His only options were to reason (that wasn't happening) or to kill him.

            NOW you Snyder trolls have an issue with Superman killing? At least in this case, it was for a noble cause, saving his mother's life. I wonder what movie you guys watched, especially since you wave the Snyder fan club signs daily.

            From what we see, it just looks like he's trying to battle Bruce down. I mean, If he wanted to kill him, he could have at any point other than the moments he was recovering from K. One laser eye blink and that's it. haha

            Did it cross his mind? Maybe, but he never acted on it or expressed it in the fight itself.

            Honestly, he could have squashed Batman so easily. I feel like Batman only did so well because Clark was playing with kid gloves (and Batman was likely counting on that, so we'll chalk it up to strategy :P).

    Destroying isnt the word. Marvel has dominated the genre while also influencing the minds of critics and fans everywhere to how these movies should be made. Because of the overwhelming success it has created a clear bias with such critics.
    DC does not stand a chance at this point. Im actually excited for IW, something i thought i would never say. DC and WB should all be ashamed at themselves

      I've never liked the look of the Marvel universe. I would classify it as the CW Arrowverse on larger budget. Not comic book movie like just action movies. I will miss Larry Fong and Zack Snyder's creative team up approach to the comic book movie. Watchman & BvS looked incredible.

      Your point about Marvel shaping the critics doesn't really hold up. The Dark Knight trilogy was very successful and garnished high praise from critics and fans. That started in 2005, next movie in 2008. Marvel's universe kicked off with Iron Man in 2008. So, if anything, DC/WB was shaping the minds of critics before Marvel, and the critics loved those DC films. Also, the bias was proven wrong with WW. If anything, I think it shows anything attached to Snyder has been the downfall critically.

        Your point does not hold up as social media how we know it today was non present at that time of Nolans films.There is also nothing wrong with either of Snyders DC films. Marvel has made really good movies. But ALL of them have been well received.
        Oh and also this, Snyder was responsible for a lot of the ideas behind the WW film.

          Your point about social media doesn't hold up either. Again, Nolan's second film 2008 and so was Marvel's Iron Man. Nolan released TKR in 2012 so social media was in full swing. I disagree, Snyder's films are shitty and were not well received critcally, but to each our own.

          Snyder was responsible for some of the ideas, but he was part of MANY who worked on WW. Geoff and Patty got most of the credit for what we saw on screen.

          Snyder wanted a Standalone Followup to MOS. Not BVS. But he was pretty much strongarmed into it by the Studio. Even if the Standalone supes movie had been more of MOS at least it wouldn't have been a mess that the brand is going to take a long time to recover from.

          Is he somewhat to blame? Certainly. But I doubt any filmmaker in his situation with the noose around their neck that Snyder had would have done much better.

          I'm just sick of all the fanboy toxicity. We get it already. Let it go, and at least wait for the next movie before you sh*t your pants in self righteous rage again like the adult infants you are.

      I'd almost have preferred Wonder Woman bombed. It being a hit means WB thought they could actually make something out of this miss, but they miss the central point; the DC brand has been poisoned.I say DCEU, people groan and mutter about BvS, Suicide Squad, and Justice League. People chuckle about Superman's CGI lip. There's literally no hype or fan Goodwill towards anything anymore.

      The DCEU has been so comprehensively delayed that Marvel has, in the same time that DC got 5 movies out, gotten 2 Thor movies, an Iron Man movie, 2 Captain America movies, an Avengers movie, a Spider-Man reboot, a Ant-Man movie, Black Panther and Infinity War, both of which will have come out before the next DC movie.

      In terms of business models, audience perception, marketability, marketing approach, and basically everything else to do with selling the damn movies, DC is finished. They might make a good movie or two, but the DC Brand is now box office poison, possibly for good.

      Especially in this day and age when going to the movies has become so expensive.
