New 'Shazam' set photo reveals the front of Zachary Levi's costume

Last week we got our first look at Zachary Levi in costume on the set of Shazam, but the photo was taken behind him. Today, a new set photo gives us the first look at the front of his costume.

As you can see in the photo above, the front of the costume looks just like you'd expect. Shazam has his big lighting bolt and it appears to be glowing. With multiple photos of the costume online now, hopefully it won't be too long before Warner Bros. gives us an official look.

Shazam is currently shooting in Toronto. It hits theaters on April 5, 2019.

    I see why some people are very sceptic about the look, but as Sandberg said himself, people have been saying what he should do and in the end no matter what part of the fans he appeal to, someone will walk away disappointed. All he can do is try to give a little bit of modern Shazam suit and a little bit of oldschool.

  I think it has something to do with the JL War costume being more clean looking, which also gives the old school Captain Marvel fans satisfaction. There's not really that big of a difference between JLWar and N52.

Once they add the glowing parts to the bolt, the bracers and boots post CGI, it should look awesome on screen. The suit is a mix of the old and new. I like it.

Like a pic of Black Manta or Orm even. I really kind of hope they will just say fuck it and release an official image of Shazam soon as opposed to waiting until Wonder Con or whatever

They filmed Aquaman mostly at a movie studio in Australia. Shazam is filming in public places in Toronto.

      They need to hash out a plan first, like a long-term plan of what they want from the DC property. Are we still doing the shared universe? Are we going with standalones? What are we going to do with Superman who desperately needs a reboot? Lots of questions.

      Before that they need to get a consistent basis for the characters. They can't have Batman filp flopping from a rage filled beast in BvS to a jokey character like in JL. Same goes for all their characters.

      Yeah, those execs are the ones who've fucked up DC if you think about it. They hired Snyder, they let him run wild with his "vision". They are the ones who forced him to shoehorn Batman because MoS failed to meet expectations. They didn't have a plan. They never had a plan. The only plan was to cash in on DC in the quickest way possible with little to no interest of building something special the way Marvel has done.

      Look at the realistic, dark, alien, very science fiction approach taken for MoS’ suit design, and look at this brightly colored spandex. This is completely out of line with all of the DCEU costumes so far. Just as I feared, this movie seems like it’s going to completely abandon consistency with the established world in favor of light and humor and cheese. I mean, can you see a Reeve-style suit in MoS? Or the Adam West costume in TDK Trilogy?
      Still, though, I’ll wait and see. I can always be proven wrong.

      I think this was always going to be aiming for light, humor and cheese, though, even if BvS had made $2 billion. It's a superhero version of Big with magic words and talking tigers, after all, and the character has always been lighthearted, moreso than the original Earth-1 DC folk. That's part of the reason that they all stayed on Earth-S until Crisis.

      That’s not the point. The point is the tone and rules established by the world should act as boundaries for all movies within it to exist, and this seems to be thoroughly ignoring those boundaries. The DCEU, for the most part, was supposed to be a pretty realistic world. This flies in the face of that more than anything else.

So, similar to the one from JL War with the surrounding triangle, but longer so the lightning bolt is closer to its original shape. Not bad at all. The bare yellow lightning bolt on red didn't look cool at all back in the 70s.
