'Batman v Superman' concept art reveals hi-tech Batsuit that was scrapped for the classic look

Batman v Superman concept artist Jerad S.Marantz previously shared a hi-tech looking Batsuit he worked on, but this latest one takes it to the next level.

Marantz explained that he was exploring "futuristic and techy options" for the Dark Knight early on in the design process for Batman v Superman. His exploration only lasted for about a week, however, before he was told to go in more of a classic Batman direction. And did he ever! I still think the Batman v Superman Batsuit is one of the best we've ever seen on screen.

Cowl looks like a combination of BP's suit and Bats JL tactical suit. Still this costume got nothin' on BvS one. BvS had the best-live action Batsuit in the history. Wilkinson really knocked it out of the park.

Easy. Since the actor's upper face is covered by the cowl, the only emoting a Batman actor can do is through his mouth or with his eyes. Not to mention, you wouldn't be able to tell if Batman's giving a shifty eye glance. The white eyes work for a comic book where they can be altered. Outside of a comic? The best you'll ever get to expressive white eyes in a superhero costume is Deadpool and Spider-Man.

  In the Ultimate Edition, he uses the lenses when taking out the Luthor guard on the security footage. You can kinda see them above the eye sockets when Alfred is working on the titanium layer of the cowl. Don't know why they never revisit it/decide to use dumb goggles instead in JL lol
  Some concept art had him with whiteish contact lenses. Would make sense to hide his eye color.

There’s a titanium understructure in the cowl acting as a protective helmet, which you see made full use of when he is shot in the head. And the suit itself is said by Wilkinson to supposed to resemble a technical carbon fiber tri-weave body armor.

  Oh I’m ok with alternative armored suits for specific situations. I just don’t like when specific animated Batman films, or games make his normal batsuit some big armor tech costume. I don’t like the idea of batman’s Standard batsuit being something that in theory, would be extremely restrictive and heavy. But I loved the armored batsuit in BvS. n fact, I just ordered the Mafex armored Batman figure off EBay last night lol. I liked the armored batsuit in BvS way more than the one in JL.

    I actually really love it as well and think that between Arkham Knight/City & Origins it’s hard to pick which one is best. I love Asylum too but it obviously had its issues with being really restricted and all that but I don’t think Rocksteady knew how much of a hit it was going to be plus they had a smaller budget I am sure.
    And YES ORIGINS NEEDED TO BE APART OF THE RETURN TO ARKHAM COLLECTION!! I know it wasn’t a Rocksteady game and it was put out by Warner Brothers Montreal but I am sure they could have worked together and found out a way to split the profits in a fair way as well. It would have sold more copies for sure as well.
    I have been researching what Rocksteady is doing next because they have teased they are working with DC again and WB and there was a post on social media where there was a picture of a Superman cake for an employees birthday and there were some interesting comments on the post as well.
    I think we are getting a Superman solo game kind of like the Superman version of the Arkham series but obviously this first one won’t be anything like Asylum (which was Arkham Series first Batman game) because any Superman game needs to be open world Metropolis because Supes can fly and because of all of the powers he has. I hope when you fight with him against Metallo or whatever bad guys you can throw him into buildings and fly through them, etc. Maybe not Man Of Steel Superman vs. Zod kind of damage but it would be fun to have a huge brawl in the air.
    There is not only that game in development but Warner Brothers Montreal (who made Arkham Origins) is making another Batman game that might take place after Arkham Knight or might not even be in the Arkham world where possibly Damian Wayne is the Batman. That one is definitely more of a rumor so we will see. I was kind of happy for the Suicide Squad game they wanted to make (especially after watching that after credits scene in Origins with Deadshot and Amanda Waller in prison). But, I guess that one got cancelled or pushed back. I wouldn’t be surprised if after Suicide Squad Made WB all that money at the box office that maybe WB Montreal will be gold by WB to go ahead with something similar or do the same project they had to bail on (or at least we have been told that). I would love to know what is all in development as far as DC games and also when we might get an Injustice 3. Injustice 2 was so amazing! Especially the story wow they could have used that for a Justice League movie sequel when they are like 4 movies in with the JL Movies.
    Anyways, what do you think about a potential Superman solo game by Rocksteady? Also, if it’s a hit they might make a trilogy of games for him. I wouldn’t mind at all. I would hope the first big villain could be like Doomsday, Braniac (I don’t think he will because he was the big bad in Injustice 2), Darkseid, etc. they need a really good villain so it’s a good story and not just good gameplay with a lack of good story elements. When they do Braniac for a Superman game I hope they introduce you to Supergirl and basically make the game like the animated movie Superman: Unbound. You could play as Supes or Supergirl or maybe both back and forth and save the City Of Kandor from Braniac’s ship. Who knows!! I’m just pumped for more Dad Games, Animated Movies, Live Action and I am really intrigued what their streaming service is going to be like! Can’t wait to hear when it will be available and how much it will cost. Hopefully like Netflix and Hulu something like between $10-$15 a month.

    It was the best of the bunch simply because they took the over the top style and took it down about 3 notches so it was a liiiiiittle bit less ridiculous. Still plenty comic booky but it wasn’t hyper-stylized in the way the other 3 games are. I also prefer Roger Craig Smith for video games, Conroy doesn’t work well unless
    he’s doing an animated film. And even then, he’s just starting to sound so robotic, monotone and stale these days. I’m pretty glad Rocksteady appears to be done with Batman and i hope WB games gives us a new Batman
    game outside of the overrated Arkhamverse alltogether. I want a universe with actual citizens roaming the streets of Gotham and a universe where it doesn’t look like every single man in Gotham takes steroids.

      No suit should be able to stay intact while fighting darkside or supes.the reason why his suit lasted more than a second, was because supes showed mercy and was vulnerable to kryptonite. While Darkseid doesnt show mercy and his weakness is unknown. So basically, batman stands no chance.

Darkseid and Superman are tough but not invincible, things of their strength level can hurt them (as Darkseid learned when Doomsday wrecked him) so combine a suit what puts Bat at that strength level plus his fighting skills then he can hurt Darkseid and Superman.

      Depends on how they would do the fight in live action, one on one sure Darkseid would own Bats but if it was Bats with a suit plus Supes, Wonder Woman, Flash and others then it would be very different.

Whats the point of having a big baddie if a human being can beat him. Batman should take care of the parademons or the tactical plan and stay far away from Steppenwolf like he did in jl.

      I'm curious actually to what will defeat Thanos in Avengers 4, currently there's no heroes or villains in the MCU what we know off what could stand a chance against him and that's including him without the Gauntlet.
      As for a human taking out Darkseid well it depends on the human, Flash moving faster then lightspeed throwing 1000's of Superman level punches a second to him would do far more damage to Darkseid then Superman or Wonder Woman ever could. Of course a film would never have Flash do that though i suppose because why show how powerful he truly is.

      I said human, not metahuman ;p. Im sure flash in his prime can hurt him, but i doubt he can actually take him out.
      And as for thanos, if they bring out the real hulk that gets bigger with anger he might have a chance.

I'd love to see this used eventually to step up his game on Apokolips. :)

The flow of it is nice. There's some tapering of the shapes that creates a sleek-but-strong Batman meets Futuristic Lancelot vibe. Would look amazing with a cape, and maybe a darker cowl.
