Suicide Squad is #1 at the box office for the third weekend in a row! The movie about bad guys has held that #1 spot since its release on August 5th.

Suicide Squad added another $20.7 million this weekend, bringing the domestic total to $262.3 million.

“We’re in great shape,” said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. distribution executive vice president. “We’re well on our way to $300 million domestically.”

Earlier this week, Suicide Squad crossed the $500 million mark worldwide, so it's well on its way to hitting $600 million soon.

  Who knows. The fact that they did it without the critics and China's help is truly remarkable. $600 mil is right around the corner, so hopefully they can get up to at least $650-700 mil before the whole run is over.

  Leave it to people to still spin it negatively. This was a virtually unknown property that nobody had ever asked to see be made into a big blockbuster, yet it's still making profits and created a good amount of hype for itself. It's continued to survive the horrible reviews and everything else. So yes, it's absolutely an achievement.

    Where did I claim that making money automatically makes it a good movie? And where did I ever bring up Marvel? The MCU is its own thing, and most of their movies do nothing for me, so I don't bother. I don't lower myself to petty dick measuring contests. I focus specifically on DC/WB, because, for the most part, I enjoy their films. They're all I'm invested in.

    You keep talking about BvS being unfinished. It was finished. The Ultimate cut is what Snyder submitted to WB for release and they made him trim it back because they wanted more showings per theater. Say what you will but the Ultimate cut is way better than what came out at the theaters. The film is still flawed, but UC actually got better reviews from critics than what was released at the theaters. When spewing your nonsensical hate, at least use the facts when doing so. It's fine that you do noIt like the film but geez... Give it a rest. I think half the Marvel Universe is way overrated but I still sat through the movies, enjoyed them for what they were and then promptly forgot about them.

  It's Geoff Johns DC era. The man is running DC Films and after the negative feedback both films have gotten I'm pretty sure WB will take a step back and let Geoff Johns build the DCEU.

      So you don’t have any idea what im saying, ill help you, i liked Deadpool a lot, but to be honest, the fart jokes, and dick jokes, and funny one liners (which worked great for audiences), made the film fresh, and the R allowed to bring the best adaptation of a comic to the screen (well, it rivals with Watchmen) but still the same thing that made it great could be the curse of Deadpool, its going to be really hard to get a sequel to be as "new" and "fresh", like this one was..
      The style of a film like this has the same flavor as American Pie (just the flavor, not the same ok?),..where will they go with the next Deadpool to stay cool?........
      It is a success, but it could be a "one hit wonder" in a couple of years......

As I sit here with a massive grin on my face after seeing the film twice soon to be three times and enjoying it all times.
David Ayer give me an SS 2 with a few more characters and hopefully a badass Villain. I don't have any problems with Enchantress, was just happy she wasn't getting bodied by each member in 1v1s. My biggest erk with every Marvel film I saw.

  An editor will now also marathon ALL of the MCU for a feature to "prove" how much better the inferior ones are to the DCEU films to shut up "their" DC community in the comment. What the fuck has the podcast devolved too? The host even hated on Rogue One! They also wrote an "opinion piece" that Wonder Fluke (if that RT turnaround happens) is incapable of saving the DCEU!         I had no problem with it since most of the members were in the comics. Even though there is an argument for why Harley is on the team, folks can't really fault the film for it since she was in the comics as well.

  BvS got 96 mil. from China, so did Guardians. Only 1/4 of the money would have went to DC though and cutting around the "problems" is impossible here. Who knows if one of the "34 seats" was for Squad anyway, or Potter Begins...

I mention the trash-tastic IGN films podcast from this week below (they went down the toilet after the staff recently changed). They go over Joker´s baby clothes and talk about a random web article that WB "cut" Harley´s miscarriage. WTF? They then state that it would have made Harley´s dream about the Joker kids "logical" and this would make her a stronger character! Someone got payed to say that...
FYI: The dream is from "Mad Love" and they had a daughter in Injustice. Made up dead babies are supposed to make DC great again? This is a new low, thank you for your time.

    They are great for news, as long as you never shut your brains off, and the game podcasts give worthwhile round-table discussions. The inside-the-industry TV podcast is amazing and the old comics podcast was gold too. The site though fell apart in 2015 after the recent reshuffle to hosts instead of journalist and click bait and top 10 instead of features. Most IGN legends are gone too. A shame, but the news ticker still works. I will have to drop a few of their podcast soon, despite listening since 2006 for some. A shame. Their DC covered went to pure shit after this unethical diaster, even the comments (!) agree:

  First off fuck IGN. I did read a theory that Harley was pregnant and the Joker was coming back for his unborn son. Then decides to kill them both by pushing Harley out the plane. I think we all know that scene was originally shot in some sort of context where Joker wasn't "saving" Harley, but they changed it in the editing room along with all the other Joker domestic abuse. This could be a valid reason? I don't think I'll ever stop thinking about the dark version of the movie that got axed at the last second, Them Joker scenes anybody?

    Joker threw her of the plane before, as she wanted him to saved her new friends and he hates orders. These rumors have to stop... (my job is web research).
    Joker also assumed she would die in the chemicals, as he tried to loose after the 2009 escape. His goons also attacked her in Arkham. The very first take on Joker didn´t make that much sense in the end and messed with the actual film.
    I have NO problem with the ultra abusive take on them, or a bleak Squad movie, but you need to have a cohesive overall plan. This cut certainly did. Ayer wanted to make a straightforward edgy PG-13 group movie that was half improvised. He came to WB with it after all but he wants to go R with a sequel. We will see what the future will hold and let´s see about Affleck´s own ideas.

      My gut feeling is that someone up the chain at WB or DC Films (GJohns?) decided they wanted to try to get the Joker/Harley relationship into another movie, but the only way to make that work was to cut way back on the abusive stuff so the character's not a total failure for going back to him at the end.

        Their relationship could turn crazy toxic later, as the new 52 showed. I would like a movie about that, but NOT a subplot among many in a team-up film.
        The rather simplistic TAS Harley only "let got" due to his death in the Beyond film btw. So many fans misremember that continuity....

        It´s a miracle this movie actually functions as a "cohesive" a to b to c film.
        Ayer ran an insane asylum for half a year and the got 2 weeks of scheduled clean-up for up to 10 mil, as the CG budget got increased too. The re-shoots mostly tweaked a lot of the already made scenes and heaps of double info (as Flag reading the file, which are now pointless due to the title cards) got axed. Joker´s stare-down of the bound Dr. Harley is less "evil" but more "distant" now for example. The OG screening poster who started the fire liked both versions and call the changes small but noticeable. More of a music and tone thing. Jokes got axed too, if a scene needed to be serious (the bar scene).
        I really like the film but i hope for a story and not character based sequel. That Squad comic regularly switches between both (it also mixes) for example.

    I have no problem with criticism, very heathy for a rounded world view, but the constructive part is important. Ignoring facts and publishing a dozen DC is doomed while Marvel goes no wrong (i am a fan but come on...) articles every week shouldn´t deserve money from anyone. Good on WB. Now only if they were to use the money wisely and either make a good movie for a change or just give it to charity and return to scam people via PC games or something.

Since everyone loves comparisons with Marvel, (especially the trolls) Suicide Squad will well pass Iron Man 2 in box office (people conveniently forget to compare the third MCU movie to the third DCEU movie, same goes for the first and second movies)a movie that stars a bunch of unknown villans (to the public) with negative critical reception will pass freaking Iron Man.

  well thats cause your judging them as if they started out equally, which they didn't. Marvel took heroes the mainstream public didn't really know/care about and made movies building up to another movie. While DC took heroes that they made plenty of past movies with and kinda just threw them together and hoped for the best. so it doesn't really make sense to compare a movie staring the Hulk to a movie with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and Doomsday. I mean I am way more a fan of DC than Marvel, but don't try and bring BS arguments in to try and make DC look better.
