Warner Bros. is making more changes to the team who usually makes their DC Comics movies. After reducing Zack Snyder's role and appointing Geoff Johns and producer Jon Berg in charge of DC Films, veteran producer Charles Roven's role is also being downsized.
Roven, who has worked on every DC Comics movie at Warner Bros. since 2005's Batman Begins, is no longer producing Aquaman and The Flash, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. He may not be removed completely from those projects however. THR says he's likely to remain active as an executive producer, but won't be involved in day-to-day production. He could remain a producer on some sequels to the movies he's currently making, like Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.
"Roven is a key member of not only the DC slate but of the Warner Bros. family," a studio spokesman told THR.
Roven is currently on the set of Justice League: Part One in London, but THR says that Warner Bros. has sent Berg to oversee the day-to-day production of that movie. Along with Ben Affleck, who got promoted to an executive producer on Justice League to help strengthen the story. Affleck will also have an active role in the post-production of the movie.
