12-year-old Joey King is likely to get an earful from Warner Bros. and "Team Nolan" after a recent interview with My Entertainment World. King talked a little about The Dark Knight Rises, but also revealed who she'll be playing. While it won't be a huge surprise to hardcore Batman fans, it could be a big potential spoiler for anyone trying to avoid plot details. Check it out if you choose...

Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise is one of the biggest in the world, was it intimidating jumping on board for The Dark Knight Rises?

It was so cool, I had an amazing time. I got to travel to places I’d never been to before. Christopher Nolan is so nice, so is Christian Bale. I just had the best time.

What’s your role in that film?

I play young Talia al Ghul. I can’t give too much away because I promised Mr. Nolan I wouldn’t say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie.

King's casting was announced back in May, and she recently confirmed that she filmed scenes in India and London.

Update: According to King's Wikipedia page, she's 12, and won't be 13 until July. I updated the article to reflect this.

      Excuse me, who else besides fans reads this sort of shit anyway? Most people can´t put 2+2 together even after reading her characters name, they will probably go like "who the hell is Talia Al Ghul???" so I´m not going to blame a child for such a inocent statement, if Nolan doesn´t want them to know who they´re playing it´s simple, don´t tell them in the first place!

      My question is why did Nolan really need to tell King the name of her character? From what I gather it is a small role, just a few flashback scenes. I'm sure she could have conveyed the right emotions and actions without knowing that she's Talia. I'm not saying Nolan should have lied to her during production, but given that she's a young girl, if her role is a secret you better make sure King's publicist knows to keep it a secret and is reminding King of this very often, especially right before interviews.

        I don't think that makes sense. How can someone even audition for a role without knowing who they are supposed to play? That would have been like not telling the boy who played young Bruce Wayne that he was playing young Bruce Wayne. I don't think the boy would have been able to portray such emotion the way he did in the movie if he didn't know who he was playing.

      Except the difference is this girl spilled news that is actually real, not that the Riddler and Penguin will be in the new movie played by Johnny Depp and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

        as far as i know it was michael caine who spilled the beans regarding a third batman movie being made when both nolans and goyer said the opposite at that time, to me that seems like news that are actually real.

    You know, I thought about this exact scenario a couple of weeks ago and then realized all of the stupid shCHILDRENt I did and said at thirteen, not to be a prick or intentionally bad; no, I got in trouble at thirteen due to immaturity and not having an adult understanding of the world around me. So, yeah, a couple of weeks ago, when I saw King making her interview rounds, something told me that something might slip through the cracks, the main reason being her youth and inexperience of the business around her. She may have signed an NDA, but did she really understand the purposes behind it or the implications of breaking it?
    I hope it doesn't follow her forever. It certainly won't hurt the movie in the long run. May spoil a surprise or two, but that won't matter in ten years.
    By the way, what does Nolan expect when giving such a secret role to a kid? A teenage middle school girl, at that. He's a great director, for sure, but if he gives King an earful over this, well, that's more on him than it on her.

    yea now that she said that she basically gave it away that marion cottilard will play the older talia al ghul, and her alias is miranda tate who is working for wayne enterprises to exact revenge to avenge her father, and has teamed up with bane to take him down, and finish what her father started......Take Gotham down to ashes!

      There's also always the chance that Talia won't be necessarily playing a villain. She did play both sides of the field in the comics, much like Catwoman.

        But there's a photo of Miranda/Talia where she's wearing this coat and is outside clearly on Bane's camp during one of the action scenes. This is my current tally of new character friend/foe:
