I don't know how he does it, but subaruwrxfan has managed to get 1080p video from the set of The Dark Knight Rises, despite streets being closed down for this part of the shoot. In this video we get our first good look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as his John Blake character. The official press release from April described John Blake as "a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon." As with any set video there may be some spoilers, so check it out if you choose.

The Military are using Tumblers, the technology was leaked by the guy from The Dark Knight who wanted to out Bruce as Batman, who Fix scared away. He had the blueprints. This is a classic 'Wait for the police car to move far enough away, then move across the street' Scene, only, in this case, the police car is a military Tumbler.. At least, that's my guess :) would explain all the Tumblers they have with the camo colours, which was, as we know, the original colour from Batman Begins.

I have an hypothesis regarding JGL character of "John Blake." As some people may know, John Blake appeared in the comics as a young kid who was always excited to show off his good report card to his father, however, the Joker would show up and steal it from him, thus preventing him from impressing his father academically.
There is a popular villain with a very similar backstory. As most of you may know, as a young student, Edward Nashton was involved in a school contest to see who could solve a puzzle in under a minute. Like John Blake, he wanted to impress his father. He cheated of course, and won, recieving a book of riddles as his prize. While playing the video game "Batman: Arkham Asylum, there is an audio recording from this villain discussing this same event. Except he adds that his father did not believe that he could have won so easily without cheating and abuses him for it.
I believe Christopher Nolan is combining 2 characters to form one with a solid backstory: John Blake is the Riddler (imo). This wouldn't be the first time Nolan has done this (Henri Ducard/Ras Al Ghul).0 likes
please be the Riddler! the perfect character to continue the psychological thriller that was TDK!

Looks to me like John Blake is doing something helpful. In the second shot, you see him emptying his coffee and without being noticed walk across the street with a canister of gasoline probably about to burn down a building. I'd say he's on the "good" side trying to stop Bane and his thugs controlling the city. Maybe he's trying to get Gordon out.

JGL is seen scrapping the windows (it looks like) while waiting for the tumbler to pass, then picks up the gas can and does the walk.

Attention! Spoiler ahead!
Bane: Where is that damn prison we are supposed to brake in?
John Blake: It´s two blocks away.
Bane: Well the car is almost out of gas so take this petrol can and find me some gas so that we can make it around the corner...
John Blake: Why do I have to go man? You go!
Bane: I will brake you if you don´t!2 likes

Is it possible of JGL being Robin or Nightwing? Could Bruce be adopting a kid from the home for boys? If they are doing it like Knightfall, you would think there would be backup for Batman?

I think Nolan has set a new trend.I've figured it out since I saw the teaser. He is trying to make us raise questions. He wants this. All these pics of the Tumblers,Batman and Bane, and Catwoman, and especially Bane's voice and this video of JGL are making us take different directions so he can continue with his masterpiece.Would it have been difficult for him to prevent the extras from bringing their cellphones to the stadium?! If you have seen Nolan's the Prestige, the last line said is:You want to be fooled!

nah... we're just living in a time that no one can keep secrets anymore... thanx (or not) to the internet.

That´s the downfall of filming on location, everybody can see what you are doing...

you morons, this footage is leaked from inside, the quality is tooooo good to be spy footage, Nolan is doing it to all us

Is that your argument? The quality is too good? Seriously? LOL
If I lived in Pittsburg and have time to kill I would buy a HD camera with the biggest zoom range I could find and film everything I layed my eyes on...
Bottom line is: anyone could have filmed this. If it was Subarufan he upgrade his gear though, cause he was filming the whole thing with a shitty cellphone camera...

All those saying he's the riddler now, i say john blake is going to be john blake, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Makes me recall my beloved Batman Returns, when they shot it in Burbank in the summer, although almost the entire movie was shot in a refrigerated studio to preserve the snow and winter atmosphere...

Hey, is this real snow or some other material? Forgive my dumbness... lol

Real snow only comes from the sky Willie, this is artificial snow dude... ;)

Just from this camcorder I got the feeling of it actually being cold. We'll have no problem believing it's winter on the big screen.

Look! JGL isn't wearing his Riddler outfit. He doesn't have pointed ears. Oh no. This movie is going to suck. LOL

Does anyone else think that maybe this is all just a clever marketing scheme? "Leak" photos and video so that you keep the movie on the public's mind. Cause I have hard time believing that Nolan and company would let this much get out. I know that people have the right to take pictures and video, but you'd think the government of Pittsburgh would be more concerned. After all, if other film makers see that their movies could get spoiled so easily, they might use that as an excuse not to film in Pittsburgh. That and the quality of some of this footage lead me to believe this might not be as out of their control as they claim.

I thought the same thing!! Remember how well Nolan kept Ledgers joker look a secret? But this time it's like a leaking sive! It's gotta be part of a very well plotted viral advertising plan. It's cheaper to do this than release trailors and do huge posters and milk ads coughGreenLantercough!

I have to wonder the same thing... I mean Nolan and his people are RIGHT THERE. If they were really that concerned about set footage don't you think they would say something? I mean they can clearly see all the people standing there with cameras and phones out taking footage... doesnt seem to concern them too much

I'm sure it's not a campaign. They simply don't really care about that. HOW ON EARTH this actually can hurt TDKR box office? Someone decides not to watch that movie because of some leaked footage? From what I saw there was no spoilers. Not bigger that we'd get from a trailer. It's also not very cheap to film in Pittsburgh so I doubt that Chris is standing right there with IMAX camera just to tease fans. And of course when they shoot something like "breaking a spine" scene no one would be allowed to stay closer then 5 miles )))))

Maybe JGL was just in the tumbler and got dropped off, looks like about to start some serious arson!
